Doug,
I just aquired and Iphone 6s and needed to import my contacts from a Windows C900 phone (10 years old).
1. I exported my contacts from the phone as a CSV file using the Windows online system.
2. I then created a Gmail account and imported the CSV into the contacts.
3. This enabled me to export them as a VSF file.
4. I imported the VSF file into the Icloud.
5. On the IPhone I logged into the Icloud and presto contacts imported to IPhone 6s.
Doug,
I was having the same issue and found a link to http://labs.brotherli.ch/vcfconvert/
This is a vCard to LDIF/SV convertor.
Quick and simple.
To my knowledge, you cannot. The export formats are a function of the contacts application.

Thanks for the tip. Many of us work with both Mac and Windows, and often Windows on the Mac. I'm personally happy to use whichever ecosystem allows me to get the job done.

Yes this works. I created a Group of just the records I needed in Mac Contacts first and just exported that group. Gmail matched the name of the group and the fields perfectly. Thanks
If the first contact has an image then I think the headers and data line up ok.
To report the bug, in your menu go Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback.

Sorry for the typo
This is a vCard to LDIF/CSV convertor.
And it's free!!!!!
Fabulous resource! Thank you so much for bringing to our attention!
Though perhaps caution is warranted if there are privacy concerns.

You can download ContactsSyncer from App Store. It's free. Besides importing and exporting between vCard and CSV, it can also sync to Gmail, Yahoo and more... Hope this helps.
Thanks Wayne for posting your tip. It's a bit of a workaround, however it does work.
Wow, super simple! Use comma instead of tab in the check box. Took 60 seconds. Amazing and free.
You can use Automator using this tutorial: http://www.scrubly.com/blog/how-to-mac-contacts/how-to-use-mac-automator-to-expo rt-contacts-to-excel/
