iPhone 5 screen popped out - can't push back in

I noticed my iPhone 5 screen popped out in the bottom left corner a few weeks ago (it has never been dropped, not sure how this happened).

It's still functional, so I didn't do anything at that time. Now, the screen is slowly popping out a little more, where it is starting to affect my round home button, making it a little loose.

I can push the screen back down, but it just pops back up, and doesn't want to stay down.

I will have access to a 5-Point Pentalobe screwdriver next week, so I could try to remove the bottom screws to see if it will pop back in easier after I do that, but was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions.

My phone is no longer under warranty, so I can't swap it at the Apple Store without costing $$$.

I am attaching a few photos of the iphone to this thread.

Could this be due to a swollen battery? Has anyone else had this happen?

Thanks

People will now post that the iPhone warranty is not international (it is) but it may not be honored in the country other than where it was purchased.

Quoted from the warranty:

IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE, iPAD AND APPLE TV SERVICE.

Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.

Okay.

And what about it?

I purchased my phone in US, now I am in India. Phone is out of warranty and serial number doesn't qualify for battery replacement program. I took my phone to the nearest iPlanet Store in Bangalore, India. The tech staff told me that this indeed a problem with battery bulging up, since I purchased this phone in the US they would not be able to help in any way, they were not even ready to do a paid battery replacement. However he mentioned that phones purchased in India having this problem were replaced for Rs.10000.

I'm very happy for you.

Unfortunately because perhaps my phone was in a waterproof case. It took a little while for those problems to show up, I saw an article in Macworld, it is a manufacture problem and apple was fixing it for free, I felt the same way as you. Until I got to the store and found out that these were recalls that was stablished 2 years ago, was only good for 3 years from purchase . I feel I was penalized for taking great care of it. Apple charged me to fixe it $300, but for that phone now I can get it free with a plan renew from my carrier or $50 new, on line.

That makes my phone trash, even with everything else is working perfectly, as it is .

I been buying their products since the 80's, huge advocate , turned so many people into their products! Just fixing that problem should not expire, because it is PROVEN DEFECT from manufacturer, it should not expire, how many original iphone5 current users are there? Would not cost them that much, and would speak wonders about pride in THEIR product, and care for the environment (3Rs, reuse, reduce, recycle )

This was the company we expected the unexpected !!! Above all the rest. That is how some of my friends journalists put it!!

Very sad with Apple , I expected so much more from them , but they are bringing themselves to just the ordinary average way of any other company :(
