Mac Pro Render & Export Glitching in Premiere, AME & Resolve

Here are my specs:

Processor: 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5

Memory: 12 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 ECC

Graphics: AMD FirePro D300 2048 MB

Software: OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)

Obviously not the best, but certainly not the worst. So it caught me by surprise when my renders and exports in Premiere Pro CC and AME CC started glitching (black flashes, lines, colors and patterns). The odd thing is that the machine works fine while editing, only when I go to send off the project does it cause any problems. This also happens when I try to color correct projects using DaVinci Resolve.

I took my the computer into the nearest Apple Store where they ran stress test on it over two days, but at the end of it all they couldn't find anything wrong with the machine. Has anyone else been experiencing this problem and/or know how to fix it?

Below are two screenshots, one from my project after rendering and one from an export:

User uploaded fileYes. I have the same problem in Premiere CC. Its a shame and frustrating. I have the 8 core with GPU D700. it works great in the timeline for the most part but it shows sometimes the line patterns in the timeline and I have to re open the session. But exporting I have the same issue over and over and I am in the post production of a film 4k delivery and this is so not fair to be dealing with...Adobe and Apple wash their hands and no one seems to admit there's a compatibility/bug issue to fix...very frustrated here!!!

I've been having the same issue with premiere and Adobe Media Encoder since I got my new Mac Pro 2 months ago.

While on OS 10.9.2, Premiere CC and AME would export with thin flickering horizontal lines. It used to be only a couple of lines here and there (artifacts / glitches that were not acceptable). The workaround has been to dissable the GPUs and just render with CPUs.

I have been submitting bug reports to Adobe and have been complaining in their support forum where a few other people have been having the same issue for a while. Adobe has been saying that they can't replicate the issue.

The fact the the problem is fixed by dissabling the dual GPUs points to the GPUs having problems and Adobe has been blaming Apple's hardware. At the same time Apple has been blaming Adobe because in the same computer the rendering problem wont happen on FCP.

I upgraded to OS 10.9.3 in the hopes that it would fix the problems but now I'm getting the thick flickering lines that cover the whole frame, just as pictured by other people in this post. Basically the problem got worst. Now I'm also having issues with Resolve.

Although its a very frustating situation, now I'm happy that Adobe and Apple can't continue denying the issue since everyone is having the problem. It really is very difficult to dismiss the artifacts now.

Please Apple, work with other software developers like Adobe and Blackmagic to find the solutions to all these issues. PLEASE stop blaming eachother and work together.

Hi guys,

I can't describe how much I feel like a donkey now.

After decades working on PC, I've decided to try MAC, so recently I bought a new Mac Pro 6 core, with D500.

FCP 7 is out of question now (its old, slow and outdated), FCP X is not a proffesional software for editing), so I decided to go with Adobe CC/Resolve combination.

BUT

After few days, I've realized that 16 GB is not enough, and that MAC OS is much worse in Memory management than Windows 7/8, so I have to order expensive 32 Gb in order to avoid OUT OF MEMORY errors (haven't seen in in Windows since 2000!!!) For example - I was trying to use MULTIPROCESSING on Aftereffects, and it turn out to be slower in render than my 3 years old MSI notebook, machine was hanging and Aftereffects was quitting....

I am aware that more cores require more RAM, but this is really ridicilous.....

After unpacking machine, I've updated to 10.9.3, and since first project I have big problems with Premiere and Resolve.

I am getting weird lines during playback of RED or SONY f5 files, Premiere is hanging on GPU exports, Resolve is **** slow and just quits randomly....

Ist this THE MAC I was listening about for years....All these people nagging how Mac is cool, superior, this , that....???? OS that breaks GPU support for Adobe and Resolve??? ***????

I feel like throwing this ugly trashcan trough the window, really....^$^&#^#^#!!##@@#

I am seriously thinking to install WIN 8 on trashcan... I guess It will work much better!

Unhappy customer....

I have these same render issues with Premiere, Media Encoder and Resolve.

Took the machine to Apple where they ran tests and although they found nothing wrong ended up swapping the d700 cards. Unfortunately this has not solved the issue. Its a software thing, although I do not know if its something that needs fixing on the Apple side or with the third parties.

Windows 8/8.1 though had years of public beta testing more exposure to systems and to vendors, and graphic drivers are ALWAYS much better than Apple's.

Apple must work in the dark and keep a lid on their work, and then changes it and surprises vedors and everyone.

By the time the bugs in 10.9 are worked out, it starts all over with 10.10 though maybe now with public input and open beta that can change.

The vendors probably work on 18 month development cycles. The time to master new code, new compiler libraries use to also take in excess of a year.

When the bleeding edge rears its ugly head IBM would burn the midnight oil and hand hold customer's through rough patches - on site and as needed.

You keep dinging Apple for these problems.

Your problems are caused by Adobe falling down on the job. They are a really important player in this market, so they get advanced access to new Apple Hardware before almost anyone else.

Even with advanced access, can they produce a reasonable product on a sensible schedule? As usual, no.

Too expensive, too sloppy, too late, and does not work with enough different hardware..
