No, however you really ought to be backing up your iTunes library and other personal data that matters to you on a regular basis. See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a suggested method. In rare cases the iTunes database can be damaged during an iTunes upgrade in which case the database can be restored from backup or with the steps in Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Run the installer as the administrator. It may just possibly help to pre-install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. See also the steps in Install missing components.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, or want to revert to an older version if the current one won't work properly for you at the moment.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

My problem is exactly the same as Anthule, at first i got a problem with my Apple Mobile Device Support, but then after i've done some research browsing the net on how to fix that problem, i've finally found the solution to that problem... However, after I've finish installing and trying to run ITunes, there's a pop up says Error 2 , Apple Application Support is needed to run ITunes.... So i've followed the steps given by B Noir as above, but when i try to install a standalone Apple Application Support installer, An error pops out that says-

""An error occured during the instilation of assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type+"win32",version="8.0.50727.6195"publicKeyToken="1fc8b3 b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture="x86". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x80070BC9.""

God knows how many times i've reinstalled Itunes, and how many pages i've been thruu just to look for a solution to this problem..... PLEASE HELP ME IM BEGGING YOU TO WHOEVER HAVE ANY IDEA ON HOW TO FIX THIS T^T

Presumably that is a variation on the error mentioned in the further information area of the user tip:

The message "An error occurred during installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT, type="win32", version="8.0.50727.6195", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b", processorArchitrcture="amd64" ' " may occur because a particular library file is not included in the distribution package supplied with iTunes. Installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update before attempting to reinstall iTunes may help.

With x86 replacing amd64.

I have a question related to this subject: I'm unable to open my iTunes after installing it (error 2) in a computer with Windows 10, 64 bits version, but the same iTunes installs and works perfectly with another computer with Windows 10, 32 bits version, that I have!! Clearly there's un issue with 64 bits based versions...answers?? I'm sure apple support knows how to fix this, but I can't find a solution for this problem...

I was having the same error as Anthuleafter installing windows 10. I unpacked the file as suggested and then after installing and uninstalling several times trying a number of the different suggestions, I eventually saw in the add/remove programs section, that the installed had installed the 32 bit apple support services, instead of the 64. After uninstalling the 32 bit version and installing the 64 bit version from the unpacked file, then installing iTunes, it worked!
