The question is to stop no caller ID not other contacts that are not saved. I don't mind receiving calls with numbers showing it's NO CALLER ID as stated above in the original question.
Has anyone found a way???? HELP x

Create a new contact, you may name this new contact “No Caller ID”. Here is how:
3 years later and still you can't block bozos that withhold their numbers! i have downloaded and deleted 4 apps that say they can do this but they CAN'T as they ALL NEED AN INCOMING NUMBER and you don't need an app to block an incoming number as that is automatically set up in your phone settings! apple really need to do something - the only cretins that withhold their number are: overseas sales, trolls or abusive callers!
That's not technically true. While there is no number, the operating system, iOS, could very well give the user the option to config enable "Block all calls without caller ID data". So if a call comes in with no phone number, the phone never rings. It is doable - the phone can give the user the options of what to do when an incoming call is completely unidentifiable. But Apple chooses not to.
there is a feature on land line
why so difficult to do on a 1200 dollar phone
you can block all numbers not in your contact list by doing this:
All calls from numbers not on your contacts list will now be blocked. You can however still see all numbers that attempted to call you as missed calls. Verify the numbers and if legit, add them to your contacts list to receive any future calls from them.

Sprint is also being sued by the FCC for "cramming" cell phone bills. It's not a company I would ever do business with.
Dear Lawrence Finch, thank you for posting a useful answer, it really hurts when my mobile service provider has restricted its user's to use an incredible feature of iphone. It appears to be greyed out when ever i tap on
settings >> phone >> show my caller id
Here is the screen shot of it Is there any possible way in the world that exists to fix this issue be it a bug, a tool or so. please reply back. I would be really thankful to anyone who helps me getting out of this.🙂
Blocking a call on the phone doesn't really block it; the call has already made it to the phone. All blocking does is send it to voicemail. You can easily do this yourself; if there is no number, just double-press the SLEEP button.
If you are serious about blocking numbers you should contact your carrier. They are the only ones who can block numbers before they are sent to your phone. Most carriers offer blocking services (including No CLID calls) for a small monthly fee.
why is this so difficult to figure out
no caller id
no incoming call allowed
SHOULD EB VERY SIMPLE
Late 2018 and Apple seems not to have a straight forward standardized solution yet for a problem that every other $60 Android phone has.
You can create groups from the contacts app in your account at www.icloud.com - https://support.apple.com/kb/ph2667?locale=en_US
And that video hint does not stop only calls with no caller id. It stops all calls, from anyone and everyone, not in the “allowed” contacts group.
What is needed is for cellular telephone service providers to implement anonymous call blocking - something they’ve routinely offered to landline subscribers for decades now, but have steadfastly refused to implement on their cellular telephone networks.
The "aid" suggested within this reply is DANGEROUS.
Reason: The calls are not blocked, they are merely silenced.
That means: If e.g. an unwanted person calls you, they will still get through and only get the impression that you simply do not answer the phone.
In the case of patient hard-case type callers (e.g., stalkers, ex-girl/boyfriends etc.), this can actually further agitate the caller and motivate him to pursue further means of contacting you (e.g. paying people a visit, sending receipt-requested letters etc.).
In contrast: Blocking unwanted callers through the standard iOS blocking feature immediately cancels ingoing calls, giving the impression that your number is disconnected / not available, which would be the expected & desirable behaviour.
Cheers,
S

Smartphones are quite capable pf recognising a call with no caller ID.
Android users have been able to block specifically those calls for quite a while alr.
If this is an overriding requirement for you, get a phone that works the way you want it to.
Hello. THANK YOU SOO MUCH! Been plagued up to three times a day by withheld number. It's actually a double glazing firm that I asked to be removed from their d/b. They then switched to calling from unknown number. Not just me hundreds more. Thanks to you I now have peace. A grateful technophobe 🙂
