Apple TV - Radio Stations

My Apple TV stopped playing radio stations a few days ago. Now all i see is the message "Loading Internet Radio Stations" but nothing happens. My Network is fine, Internet is fine, not sure what's happening. Help please.

Yes same issue - can't load internet radius station on 1st generation ATV

SINCE march 26 th. I agree - I listen to the radio stations daily. It will be a real loss if they

Take it away. The radio format has gone thru so many changes since the first streaming days.

It would be a shame to abandon that now.

Love my 1st gen ATV with a hard drive. Everything works except Internet radio.

I hate that apple forgets about their older models. The 1st gen is awesome.

There are probably losts of folks out there with the older model.

Apple pay attention!

I've opened a case, called about 3 times since 3/26, they are just now acknowledging "hearing about some complaints", but they still seem clueless where to turn to get this fixed.

One tech said he didn't have a Gen 1 available to test, but now it seems the Gen 2s have the same issue with No internet radio. Still they are clueless.

It doesn't take this long to fix something you want to fix.

Looks like they are abandoning Gen 1 and Gen 2 at this point. Which was my 1st fear.

I have 6 apple tv 1st generations at my medical office and all stopped loading internet radio 2 weeks ago and have been doing the same thing described here. All other functions work and newer appletvs work as well. It looks like support just totall stopped. Thanks for this thread. Apple, please respond and let us know if/why you've stopped supporting internet radio on 1st generation apple tvs?

I too spoke to a senior tech at Apple today. I think there are many many apple senior techs! I was told that the apple TV is just supporting streaming media. I said fine- internet radio stations are streaming! He said the new itunes update no longer supports syncing from itunes. I say I am not trying to sync. I am just wanting to load internet radio stations just like I always did on a daily basis prior to 3/26/2014. He told me he would look further and I should put in another feedback entry which I already did and I encourage others to do so as well. We are long time consumers of apple products. They should NOT **** us off and I for one am defintely ****** off!

Hello AppleTV users who can't get internet radio on their Gen1 or 2 AppleTVs since 3/26/14.

Now seeing that there are over 2500 users who came to this Discussion List with me being one of the first to report into Apple Support, I was discouraged this morning by still no progress, and decided to call Apple Support again, and this is why I'm writing.

After checking her database, she admitted that Apple is fully aware of this new problem, and has every intention to get it running again. It will probably cause a software update to your AppleTV.

As I was told originally when calling this in 3/26, it may take additional weeks or months to get the fix, but the important thing for anyone reading this is that Apple is most aware of the problem, and most important has every intention to getting it fixed.

Weeks or months? Give me a break. It should take seconds to fix the bug!

The senior tech guy I spoke to said apple stoped the syncing functions of the ATV gen 1

With the last iTunes update. WRONG!

My ATV STILL SYNCS PHOTOS AND MUSIC. Just proves these tech guys do not know

What they are talking about. I am loosing faith. Really what is the big deal - it's just a stream

Of Internet radio. Apple did not have any trouble getting $250- $300 a pop from each of us

A few years ago when we bought these ATV's. Now they are short changing us.

I have experienced the exact same problem. Internet radio mysteriously quit working. My apple tv unit is 4.5 yrs old. All other functions work fine. It attempts to load music and gets stuck eternally loading. I called Apple and they told me "my unit was too old for support." " Do you Really expect me to believe that?" I said. They told me "they had very few people who could address my issue". I said it's not my issue it's Apple's issue. It is clear to me that Apple want's mr to buy a new unit. I believe they have intentionally disarmed the ability of the first gen units to read the internet radio signal. That's all i used it for. I have complained but I have no expectations for this problem to be fixed. Keep complaing and maybe Apple will grease the squeeky wheel.

George111, thank you for your feedback. I too always knew that Apple Technical/Engineering Support was fully aware of this issue. I hope that they (Apple) fixes this issue soon and sends us a notification via this blog, for us to conduct the respective software upgrade/update. For everyone else reading this or following us via this blog, please continue to call Apple and report the trouble. We all MUST continue to call them on this issue. Thank you.
