Dear capecodmama,
Thank you for your continued help and interest.
RE: "The radio stations can not be accessed in the manner we did prior to 3/26 on ATV Gen 1 which was directly via ATV under the Internet Radio."
I understand that's what I'm faced with today through your discovery (Work around) to create a internet radio playlist. I sure hope this is NOT the permanent fix.
RE: "On your ATV when you scroll to Internet/ Radio
And choose radio what do you see?
I see Radio/ now playing / categories/ Playlists / Adult Contporary and
A list of radion station genres.
If I choose one of the genres - no internet radio stations will load.
The radio stations that I have added to the new playlist ( in iTunes on Mac)
Will infact begin to play continuously.
I don't know what else to tell you."
I have followed each of your steps to create the new iTunes Internet Radio playlist, which does show up in iTunes on my Mac Mini and will play internet radio FROM ONLY iTunes to the output of the Mac Mini speakers... not my 1st gen. AppleTV.
On my AppleTV, on it's home page where I choose what programming I want via the next to the far right hand selection remains called "Internet." Upon selection, I get two options... You Tube and Radio. (It used to say "Internet Radio")
Upon selecting this "Radio" selection, as has been recounted from many here, it will briefly flash that it is loading internet radio, but then disappears and the work "Radio" is all that is left. Upon selection, all I get is an AppleTV system beep that I have pressed a button. NOTHING HAPPENS AFTER THAT!
Now I'm confused about your recommendation for a work around, as your instructions completely changed from yesterday.
You advised that you discovered a work around to regain internet radio on the AppleTV by making and loading a new "Internet Radio" playlist from the iTunes App associated with the AppleTV. In my case, that's my Mac Mini. (A minor clarification: if using a "Shared Lib" on AppleTV gen. 1, the computer associated with that AppleTV does have to be running. My music lib is 2.3 TB large, and obviously will not be able to be loaded on a 160 GB AppleTV internal HD. That's why I have to use a "shared lib.")
You then clearly explained that to regain internet radio on our gen. 1 AppleTVs, we had to access this new "Internet Radio" playlist, not the top menu of the AppleTV as you now state, but from the loaded "shared Lib." Well, it does not show up in my list of some 100 playlists. They are loaded alphabetically, and it's simply not there.
Now I'll stop here to hear back from you about which way you have done this, because your instructions have completely changed, and now
contradictory.
I sure do appreciate your help, and hopefully, between the two of us, I can at least get my most favorite internet radio stations temporally back.
Thank you again!
