Why won't my AppleTV won't play movies from computer

FYI, I have the exact same problem.

I had the same issue. Restarting from the AppleTV General menu solved the problem for me.

You have have to do is restore your apple TV. I was having the same issue. Now is working as it should be.

I have tried to reset the apple tv, but after a while it has the same problem, has anyone any new updates or ideas? i have two apple tvs and also tried to connect one directly to the router, but... wont let me access the content on my itunes/family sharing... sigh. would like permanent solution, but that might be asking for too much.

i have also attempted options by changing the channels and everything through the router, but, streaming through hulu/hbogo/netflix arent an issue. its just being able to watch my own content. let me know!

I Had the same problem. For some reason, everything worked fine after disconnecting the CAT5 Ethernet and connecting to the network using WIFI.

Restarting from General menu worked for me too.

Same problem here. Both Apple TVs are doing the same thing. Perpetually buffering until they time out. Speed tests are fine...I've restarted and rebooted everything that can be. Movies play fine on my Mac. This is crazy! Its been going on for over a week and I can't watch a single movie I've purchased. I am very frustrated and nothing seems to help.

This is totally making me rethink going all Apple. Now all the $$ I've spent on movies is wasted!?!
