Q: List of Pages Pages 5.2 fixes and bugs

Please put together here any Pages 5.2 fixes you have tested that work.

 

Also document any  Pages 5.2 bugs.

 

If you have a standing issue from Pages 5, 5.01 or 5.1 can you test if Pages 5.2 corrects them.

    Dragging Section Thumbnails kills next paragraph format

     

    Being able to reorder Sections is back but I hit an immediate bug.

    "Geology Report" was Subtitle style, when I dragged the section above in front of it, it changed to Body style.

    Word Sevices is back

     

    Confirmed that, at least for Word Services, services such as Sort now work.

    Right to Left text fixes

     

    There are now two options in:

     

    Menu > Format > Text > Reverse Text Direction/Reverse Column Order

     

    Which fixes the problem of RtoL text flowing incorrectly in columns LtoR. This should happen automatically however rather then having to be manually changed.

     

    Latin left to right text now falls in the correct position within the Hebrew ie to the left of punctuation and the insertion point.

     

    A quick test of TextWrap around objects indicates this works correctly as well.

     

    Could any Hebrew, Arab, Dari or Pashtu speakers please test the extent to which this now fixes the RtoL problems?

     

    I have discovered a bug in the text layout.

     

    I can not click at the beginning of the RtoL text where it starts at the 1st (right hand) column of a layout break. The cursor jumps to the end of the first set of styled text.

    Images can now be Pasted or Drag and Dropped into Table Cells but not into Headers and Footers

     

    If an image is dragged onto a cell with no content, it will become an Image Fill.

     

    If there is text already in the cell, it will become an Inline Object.

     

    I can't select the image however to resize it.

    Images can now be dragged out of a document

     

    Format > Image > click and hold on the image icon > Desktop

    Images still don't drag and drop or paste into the insertion point in text

     

    You still need to drag it onto the document:

     

    Format > Arrange > Move with Text > Text Wrap > Inline with Text

     

    A multi-step process with concealed steps.

    Set-up on the Toolbar has been renamed "Document"

     

    This makes more sense.

    Export to ZIP Archive… has been added

     

    Probably to get paste the 3rd Party server incompatibilities.

     

    Better to have fixed the incompatibilities or work with the 3rd party developers.

    Additions to Preferences

     

    Can set the Default Zoom

     

    Show suggestions when editing table cells.

     

    Can set the Author name, but nothing else related to the Author.

     

    Still no millimetres on the Rulers.

    Linked Text Boxes are unlinked from documents, completely destroying them.  Linked text boxes is such a basic feature; I'm deeply disappointed that Apple hasn't prioritised this and I've waiting for this update!

    You'll forgive me for saying that the language you use is unnecessarily stern. To Tracy, you could just as easily have said, "I'd be very grateful if you could expand on that and explain why they're broken;" to me you might have said, "Hi Hiley, this page is only mean't for X, could you add your note to page Y instead"
