    Found.

    1. the worst problem first:

ClreanMyMac: it is version2 that is a bit easier to uninstall:

Open CleanMyMac, in the left menu panel there is Uninstaller: uninstall with that. There proably are some leftovers, but we will delete them later.

Tell me what you have done with CMM: I must know whether you have used it to get rid of Binaries and/or Languages.

After that Restart, empty the Trash Bin.

    2. The second problem is Sophos: it is not a bad app, but unnecessary. It should not run continuously (on access), but only manual scans, when needed. Since Mavericks 10.9.1 there seem to be compatibility issues with OSX: I propose to uninstall it completely. You do not need it, you need only a AV in your windows VM.

    3. You have uTorrent on your computer: read in my other posts what are the risks of using a torrent app. Take it out of the LoginItems.

    4. Your Hosts file is compromised. We deal with that after the initial cleaning.

    5. Uninstall iSkysoft.

After your actions restart, empty the trash bin, make a new etrecheck list.

    Thank you for the response.

I have now uninstalled Clean My Mac and Sophos. Restarted my computer. But I cant seem to find iSkysoft. Searched on finder and looked through my applications, but no iskysoft.

Mind you that clean my mac and utorrent have been on my computer for so long and never had any problems with it. Sophos on the other hand, I just downloaded after noticing that my computer became slow.

I have been using clean my mac on auto mode, so what it does is to automatically search through my computer and gather unnecessary files. So it's all been automatic. But I do remember seeing some language file beeing cleaned on it.

Another problem that I have is that my finder window sometimes stops working and never opens again until I restart the computer.

-- iSkysoft is probably a leftover of an older period:

Go to Yourname->Library (hold Alt=option key while in Finder's Go menu)->ApplicationsSupport->Helper , in that folder delete the iSkysoft folder.

-- CMM: removing those languages -and probably binaries-, makes it necessary to Recover the OS (it lets your user data alone), we do that later.

    There are leftovers of CMM:

MacintoshHD->Library->LaunchDaemons  in that folder delete the com.macpaw....plist

Yourname->Library->LaunchAgents   in that folder delete  the two   com.macpaw....plists

-- uTorrent is still in your LoginItems:

SystemPreferences->Users&Groups->LoginItems tab:  remove the uTorrent entry with the minus sign underneath.

    Restart, empty the trash bin.

We are now going to Restore the system files:

Shutdown, and then start while holding the CMD+R key: it takes a bit longer then shows a four point menu:

Choose Recover OSX: then do the recovery  (you need an internet connection).

After the restart do not do anything but make a new etrecheck list, and then we are going to solve the hosts file problem. Do not start a browser at all.

Ahh, I forgot to mention that we still have to do an uninstall of the paceapp: old, and crippling now.

    We do that now:

MacintoshHD->Library->Extensions: in this folder delete com.paceap.kext.pacesupport.snowleopard

MacintoshHD->Library->StartupItems: in this folder delete PACEsupport

MacintoshHD->Library->LaunchDaemons: in this folder delete   com.paceap.eden.licensed.plist  and also   PACESupport.plist   and also  logKext.plist

OK, PaceSupport gone, CMM two leftovers, iSkysoft leftover still there. Much better already.

We begin again with the Finder:

    1. In Finder Menu GO hold the Alt(option) key and click Library, it opens, in there click the LaunchAgents folder open:

in there delete  the  two  ...macpaw...plist  entries

    2. In Finder Menu GO hold the Alt(option) key and click Library, it opens, in there click the  ApplicationSupport  folder open and in there click the Helper  folder open  and in there delete the iSkysoft  folder.

    3. In Finder MacintoshHD  click the Library  folder open, in there click the Extensions  folder open, in there delete  com.google.filesystems.fusefs (a Macfuse leftover).

    ---------------

Now we are going to look at the hosts file (be careful here):

In the Finder Menu GO click the 'Go To Folder' menupoint and copy/paste in the address field    /private/etc/    and enter:

That Folder now opens, and in there you find a file called  hosts   (just that, nothing else), CTL+click that file and then choose copy . Then click somewhere on the Desktopn and CTL+click and choose paste : now you have a copy of the hosts file on the desktop.

Rename that file for example 'hostscopy'. Now CTL+click that hostscopy file and choose 'open with' and choose Textedit. Copy/paste the complete text here.

Im sorry man, but really can't find macpaw on nr. 1 and can't find iSkysoft. I go to the files your talking about but can't find them. Maybe its the wrong libary, because i can't find the libary for my user. When i go to my user, there is no libary only on the shared account.

The rest I did nad i have copied, here it goes:

    Please read the instructions carefully.

Hold the option key down and select "Library" from the Finder's Go menu.

Yes the User Library, read the instruction, as Mad says. You have to find the files you have to delete.

    About the hosts file:

is there any reason why you want to have the sites at the end blocked?

Is Ubisoft DRM perhaps cracked software? If so uninstall it.

Is it still on the computer? Do you need it.

The changes in the hosts file are not crippling the mac, so it is not really necessary to change the hosts file (luckily)

    Lex

Ahh, I think I understand why they were still in the Etrecheck list: it was made before you restarted the mac after cleaning. It should be gone now I hope after a restart: Restart, Empty Trash, make a new etrecheck list.

    How about the hosts file?

    Ok I will restart again

What about the Hostfile? Now there is no reason, I dont know why they are blocked to begin with. Im trying to find Ubisoft and delete it.

Unistall it when you find it (type name in Spotlight), if you do not do anything to the hosts file, the ubisoft sites will stay blocked, there is no need to do anything to the hosts file.
