hacking

Paranoid, maybe, but why would the IT guy at work, stand at the entrance to work two mornings consecutively, and then pace back and forth by my office, looking at his phone, then walking back by and look at his cell phone again? He walked by every 15 minutes all day long. I followed him a few times, unknown to him, to see what he was doing. That's when I saw him either taking his phone out of his pocket or putting it in each and every time.

I know nothing about hacking, but could this be possible, that he's spying/hacking? Ironic that another person recently asked who my provider is..and another asked if I had the Wi-fi password at work. It was also the first two days under new management. All sorta weird.

Hi

I do not think you are at all paranoid :). I think this gentlemans behaviour is extremely odd indeed! I am not at all techy and have posted a discussion asking for help on hacking. (My ex has seriously hacked me over the last 3 years and consequently taken on my identity in several forms and placed things on the web that are untrue such that I have an harassment order on him and it still does not stop him) I called apple tech support 4 times and they where useless however last night I got through to a guy in the US and he was brilliant! There is so much software out there to hack its dead easy. I get the feeling certainly over here in the UK the general public are not aware of the ease that this can take place. Even the police who I have an on going case for the last few years are not so clued in Ias I would have expected. This guys behaviour is extremely odd and covert! If it was me I would approach HR as his conduct is quite threatening intimidating. To the end that it is causing you concern means it is upsetting you tells a story in itself.

Perhaps before you go to HR do a bit more research ask other members of staff you can trust and follow him a few more times, but just for your own safety I would mention it to HR and ask them to at least document it on your file in case he does it to someone else!

Given you have been taken over by a new company to me would add to my concern.

You are definitely not paranoid :)

There are some strange people out there I have discovered.
