Has anyone experience iMac memory issues with One Drive (previously Sky Drive) - uses 5GB of my 8GB memory!

I recently started experiencing memory issues with my iMac due to One Drive using up to 5GB of my iMac memory (total of 8GB). Every time I start up my iMac Activity Monitor shows One Drive uses around 4-5Gb of the internal memory for no reason. Previously Onde Drive seemed to work fine, it's only since about 2 weeks I notice this. It's really annoying as the iMac freezes up regulalrly and I need One Drive to synchronise my files across different devices.

Has anyone experienced this too and are there any known fixes?

OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)

It's a genuine application issue linked to the last upgrade. Re-installing OSX won't solve the issue. Unfortunately Microsofts helpdesk is poorly treating the issue and basically leaves me with no answer except of sending answers that have nothing to do with the issue, just to meet their SLAs. Will be moving to Google Drive.

Definitely a genuine issue, I updated Onedrive app on two Macs, an MBP and and iMac, both with 16GB RAM, both got the same issue, and clearly it is Onedrive that hogs the memory. I have a 3rd Mac, an MBP with similar 16GB RAM but with no Onedrive installed, and all is fine.

I used to have these problems with Microsofts sycn programme, I think it originally was called Foldershare. They bought it and ruined it. Had to abandon it for similar reasons. Buggy software. Deeply disappointing.

I was hoping to run Offie on iPad, but even though that seems to work just fine, it doesn't work just fine on the Macs.

And here is a temporary fix at least for me:

First I deleted the onedrive.app (no restart and no removal of onedrive folder on Mac).

Then I downloaded an old skydrive version from here:

http://mac.filehorse.com/download-onedrive/3957/

Then I installed it and pointed it to the onedrive folder.

Now I don't get the memory issue anymore.

I hope this can help others, good luck. I was just about to leave Office 365 and Onedrive alltogether. Now I will wait and see.
