I can't log into iMessage or FaceTime

For some reason I can't log into iMessage or FaceTime and it says "could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." And my internet is just fine. I tried it wit a friends house with their wifi too and it says the same thing.

iPad 2, iOS 7.1
