Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

"Audio file does not have sufficient access privileges. An overview can not be saved!"

I get this message when opening a Project on my external HD. Figured out how to fix it on the internal HD on my iMac. Permissions look good on all the folders/files. For the ones on the HD, the HD name is given read/write access, but not the user (Me) (which is on the files on the internal HD). I tried to add myself as a user the the files/folders on the external HD and it didn't let me.

Any idead? Thanks!

Select the drive in the Finder, Command I to get info and tick "ignore ownership on this volume".

You may need to unlock first, and enter your admin password.

Thanks again for the info both of you. This leads me to ask more questions... Let me know if you think I should pose these in a new thread.

Is the issue with working on Logic Pro X projects on the internal drive havng to do with storing many projects/audio files? Does it have to do with large projects running many tracks/loops/etc ... (many of my projects are just a couple audio tracks,...)?

Would it work to just move the project to the internal drive to work on it, and always save projects elsewhere (external drive or media server..), so there's only one project on the internal drive at any time? (Or maybe have a folder on the internal drive with a few working projects but keep it to a limited maximum size).

What do you think? Would that work?

I couldn't find Ignore Ownership either, but on the Info pane under Sharing and Permissions (bottom), change the authority of selected users or "everyone" to Read and Write.
