Logic X UI bug (Meters freeze, Mixer and Arrange window unresponsive)

Logic X UI bug (Meters freeze, Mixer and Arrange window unresponsive)

Meters freeze, window is kinda buggy like "windows" style, playhead doesnt move too. Whole UI doesnt respond.

Some of my projects load this way now=( Projects originally created in LogicX, everything was ok like 4 days ago, 10 midi tracks with Kontakt 5 on them, and couple audio tracks. I didnt change a thing.

Now when i load a project, sometimes its all good before i bring out mixer (cmd+2) and try to fit it to display, then GUI lags and freezes starts. Some projects loads this way from the start, even if no mixer window is open.

What can it be ?

MBP 15 (early 2011), i7 2.2 6750m. Os 10.9.2. LogicX 10.0.0.6

You can just pick out the Logic Pro App itself from the TM backup and restore that..... You dont have to restore your entire system....

This will give you a basic idea of how to do this...

I would suggest you move your current LP app to a different location and then restore the backed up one... to the applications folder...

I would love to say that the Low Res Option got me back into business, but unfortunately I am in the same boat as you guys. I don't know when the *&#! Logic and Apple decided to turn an amazing PROGRAM (not Application) into a real POS, but I am beyond frustrated and disappointed. I have spent tens of thousands (and possibly more) on these products over the past 15 years and for the GUI to reflect garbled / damaged information is absolutely unacceptable. I cannot access the mix whatsoever to complete the projects that I have on hand. Can anyone help us?? I am not sure where to turn to resolve this issue? I am borderline taking my machine to apple but I don't think they will be able to fix this issue!

As I have no real idea what you are referrig to... Can you post a screenshot up of the main Logic window to demonstrate your issue?

It sounds like you mean you cannot see the arrange window? (For someone with your experience however, that doesn't sound likely but....) If that is the case..have you tried pressing CMD + 1 to bring the main screen set back again...

Otherwise, please post up that screenshot plus a detailed account of the issue or issues you are having.. and also your System's Specs.. (Which OS and Logic Versions please)

My apologies. I assumed everyone here was having this same exact issue. The earliest posts of garbled mixer window screen shots were very similar to the issue that I am having. Here are some screen caps from my machine.

I'm using LP 10.0.7 on a MBP 2.5Ghz Core i7 w/8gb DDR3 running 10.8.5.

I have garbled data in the main arrangement window (when opening the side panel) along with the mixer window.

Yes.. that the retina related issue that some people have reported though the main cause is yet unknown as it doesn't affect everyone...

One possible cause seems to be related to those who have used a custom/modded GUI with Logic in the past however..... by adding to/changing data in the resources folder inside the LP package... and then saving projects out.. It's those projects and/or templates created with the modded GUI that seem to cause or trigger this issue...

Anyhow.. to confirm...

... Right Click on your Logic Pro app and from the menu select get Info.. In the get info box you will see a "Open in Low resolution" check box.. Check that....

Also. In OS X's System Prefs/Energy... uncheck the Automatic Graphics Switching setting... if you have one... (This wont work if you have Multiple Displays connected unfortunately)

Reboot Mac and test after doing both these....
