Trouble connecting DisneyMoviesAnywhere account with iTunes account.

I am trying to connect my DisneyMoviesAnywhere account with my iTunes account, on my laptop. When Apple opens, it says I need to download iTunes. I already have the latest version of iTunes installed on my laptop.

Hello there, rmnovelli.

For your issue some have seen a solution by downloading the latest update manually from this link:

iTunes 11.1.5

http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1614

Once you've tried that, then try connecting your DMA account again. The following Knowledge Base article offers some good information in regards to the service:

About Disney Movies Anywhere and iTunes Store

Wow, thanks for that save. Just spent over an hour wasting my life trying to figure this out. Love the fact that it apparently had to be reauthorized because I had already linked it a year plus ago somehow. Now it was just missing the most recent purchases and I was trapped in that ITunes download loop. Using Safari did the trick. All I've got to say to both Disney and Apple is "Seriously?" I think I have to mostly blame Apple just because the linkages work easily for all the other providers. ITunes was the only one that caused a problem. Gee, such a surprise. On a Win 7 64 bit machine with the latest in all the other browsers and none of them would work.

I had the same problem with the 64-bit version of iTunes with Windows 10. I tried all the different browser and it still didn't work. I kept getting the window to install iTunes, even though I already have the current version. Finally figured out another way, so I thought a would share:

Go to the Disney Movies Anywhere app (I used an ipod touch)

Go to "More" at the bottom right corner to access the setting menu.

Go to "Connect Accounts"

Select "iTunes"

I was prompted to confirm and enter my apple password.

The accounts are now connected again. My accounts were linked before but apparently the connect expires and has to be reconnected.

DisneyMoviesAnywhere doesn't like the way that Windows 7 64-bit's file system is set up. It'll try to find the 32-bit of iTunes to connect to, but won't find it. At least, not through Chrome.

Chrome is just following the task it was given by DMA. However, going through Firefox or IE resolves this issue (just tried it myself). The link type is an .itmss, but Chrome doesn't recognize it and instead will direct you to the download page for 32-bit iTunes. Firefox will recognize the like type, and will offer you to launch iTunes to connect your DMA account to your iTunes account.

Hope this helps

Same thing for me. Trying to connect DMA with iTunes on my PC, I got the iTunes download prompt with ANY browser - Firefox, Chrome, Edge, and Internet Explorer. Nothing worked, even though Amazon and Microsoft connected to DMA easily. I tried downloading a "Safari for Windows 10" install file but it ended up being malware (but caught by Kaspersky).

So... I finally just downloaded the DMA app in the app store, and what do you know, I could connect my iTunes through the app. Then I opened iTunes on my PC and clicked on "Account" then "View My Account." And listed under "Apple ID Summary" was the Disney Movies Anywhere! So simply connecting DMA with iTunes THROUGH THE iOS APP also connected my PC's iTunes with DMA.
