Push notifications WhatsApp not work.

Push notifications WhatsApp not work. I only receive them when I open the app. I've checked the settings on iOs and Whatsapp and all is ok. I've also updated to the latest versions. Can you help me?

I have exactly the same problem as Charlotte. It started like a month ago.. without me doing any change to any configuration. This is really very annoying.

I tried everything except from setting up the phone again (like a new one).

Julian, how did you do with the contacts? Did you store them somewhere? I can live with losing all content, but not my contacts...

Yes, losing all the contacts is unacceptable.

I bought an app called "Backup" to save all in my email, but at the end it was not necessary, because I don't know how they were there after I configured as a new phone. I think it was at the ICloud or SIM,I don't have sure, but it seems that the contacts can be recovered without backup...But I advise you to purchase this app "backup" to not take any risk...

Thank you, Juliano.

I finally set up my phone as a new one and it solved the problem!

It is not as complicated as I feared. The contacts can be restablished by copying them from the SIM card or the cloud. When setting up the phone, the "old" apps are presented in a list for download, so you just have to click them. The only thing one loses are the (normal phone) messages and the content of some apps. On the other hand, it is a good occasion to clean up the phone ;-)

I HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR THIS!

You don't have to delete anything or reinstall or format.. All you need to do is resetting your network connections in Settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. It worked for me, now I'm receiving all push-up notifications from Whatsapp, Facebook and so on normally, just like before.

Hope it+ll do the trick for you! 😉

Okay, it would seem that WhatsApp has not been the only app suffering from notification issues since iOS 8. So, with multiple apps having issues, I finally found that performing a soft reset (holding down the home and lock / power button until iPhone powers off) fixed the issues of all app notifications - including WhatsApp. You have to power the phone back on once it's off but hopefully this will work for other people too - and a soft reset does not erase any data.

I agree resetting the phone as new one is not a solution. I have tried everything but nope, it just ain't working. Just like Charlotte, it keeps getting push notifications after i close the app for 2-3 minutes, not after though. The issue must be connected to keeping the applications alive background. There's a setting for that in settings->general. But the thing is, I believe none of us changed any setting before this problem occurs. But something must be bugged to prevent apps staying alive in background if i'm getting messages after i close the app for 2-3 mins.Than its just shuts off itself. I have a 64GB phone and lots and lots of folders and settings and apps that i can't be bothered to set the phone as a new one. And yes, its NOT a solution, just a walkaround.

I hope someone can step up with a solution.

Cheers.
