PowerAgent for Mac 7.7.5 won't open

I just updated PowerAgent for Mac from v7.5.8.47 to v 7.7.5 and now PowerAgent won't open. I did reboot, re-installed, etc. I had to re-install v7.5.8.47 to get PowerAgent to open. Any ideas on whether this is user (idiot) error on my part as to why v7.7.5 won't open, or is it a problem with the release?

I had the same problem. I called powertap and they said my java needed updating. That didn't work. How do I get v7.5.8.47 to reinstall?

I am using Mac OS X 10.10.3. I just updated XCode and associate command line tools recommended by Apple update checks.

Power agent 7.7.5 stopped working after the update. I reinstalled Java 8.45 (was using 8.40) and Java 2014-001. I deleted Poweragent 7.7.5.

Then I installed 7.8.12 (because 7.7.5 wouldn't even install). After a system restart I received this error when starting Power Agent: gnu.xml.dom.DomElement.getTextContent()Ljava/lang/String

However despite showing a spinning wheel, this system works. Connects with Joule GPS and syncs with Strava.
