Push isn't working for my email on iPhone and iPad for aol carrier
AOL doesn't have push mail for iDevices.
Hi, I have been having the same problem for the last 4 days. It has been working fine since I bought my iphone in March and the mini iPad for the past year.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
I've been having the same problem with my iPhone and iPad. My email accounts are with AOL. Everything had been working fine with pushing the email and suddenly it stopped working. I've had my phone for 2 1/2 yrs and my iPad for almost a year and a half. Never had had a problem with mail being pushed previously. Any help would certainly be appreciated. Thank you.

I checked to make sure that everything was set up right on both my iPhone and my iPad immediately, and AOL assured me that all of my settings were correct. This is something different than that, causing this issue.
Hi, I have checked and all setting are set to Push. I have even deleted the account and then opened it up again and it is still unable to push emails from AOL to my iPhone and iPad. There is obviously something happening in the background with AOL. Still hoping for someone to come up with an answer and a way forward.
Thanks again for your input.
AOL has always pushed mail to my iPad. I was notified by the sound I chose. All of a sudden the mail from AOL has to be fetched and I no longer get a sound notification of incoming mail. I have not changed anything in my iPad mail settings. It us VERY frustrating! I have talked with Apple support and nothing has helped solve the issue.
What did AOL say?
I can't get an answer from AOL. I use the free version and they will only chat or talk with paid subscribers! I don't understand why this worked for the last year when I first got my iPad. It just suddenly stopped and it is making me crazy!
I have the paid AOL accounts, and they were supposed to get back to me today and have not, thus far. It has to be an issue with AOL's email server. The tech that I spoke to over the weekend said that he thought that it may be an issue with their server. Almost 3 weeks ago, AOL's email server was hacked. They said that 2% of their accounts were affected, and one of my AOL accounts was in that 2%. They didn't admit for over a week that it was their server that had been hacked, and instead made everyone affected think that it had been their own computers that had been hacked. I have to believe that this is an AOL issue again. Everything was working fine with my iPhone and my iPad, and suddenly my email was nolonger being pushed on Thurs night/early Friday. If I get an answer from AOL, I will certainly post it here.
Thanks so much! I am sure there are many people affected and frustrated with AOL. Why can't they just admit it's their issue and assure everyone they are trying to resolve it. I look forward to your post if you hear anything more from them.
Same thing with me, my mail was not pushing or getting notifications since Thurs..I would have to fetch the mail on both my iphone 5s and Ipad. it was working just fine before Thursday. I've tried deleted the mail accounts and reput them into the phone. Still doesn't work. No idea what to do..please help!
I had same problem. Talked to techs at Apple and AOL. AOL insists it is the phone settings. My problem coincided with iOS 7.1.1 upgrade. This is what worked for me. Set your mail with push on , but under your AOL account set it to fetch 15 min. Your phone will then fetch your email and then push it to your notification screen.
I did exactly what you said to no avail. I am working on an iPad, not a phone. For a solid year I always was notified when an AOL message arrived. Now I never am notified. Apple says it is an AOL malfunction.
Anyone else out there finding any solutions?
I have talked to aol support team. They said it's the new iOS 7.1.1 update that we received that may have caused this issue.
