Push isn't working for email on iPhone or iPad using aol

I pay a fee and still have experienced AOL not pushing off and on. Was not pushing to my iPhone on Friday night. Seems to be working now. Told AOL tech support that they are doing something that is causing this problem.

The problem is still intermittent, not constant, for me. Push is working fine this morning (June 19).

I have the iphone 5s and ipad 2 and i am not geting any push from aol at all. I have an exchange email and that one is pushing just fine. Trouble seem to me to start this week any help would be great.

This is a recurring problem with AOL. Unfortunately no one has come up with a fix. Deleting and adding back your account won't correct the problem. Suggest you use fetch until the system returns.

It is an issue with AOL. You cannot fix it by doing anything on the iPhone.

I have the same issue with my iPhone 5s. Since the update of iOS 7.1.1 in April push and fetch will drop after 48 hours. I am with Rogers in Canada. I have co-workers who are dealing with the same thing no matter what mail they are using gmail, yahoo etc. Any advice would be nice. I have tried the multude of settings but no luck. I traded down my phone to iOS 7.04 which works just fine.

No, you're off the mark. The problem discussed here is an AOL problem. Push works fine for a few hours, then it goes away. Then it works again. And so on, with no clear pattern or timing. Fetch hasn't been a problem. Open the mail app and the emails flow in, no problem.

And it has nothing to do with iOS 7.1.1. I'm still using the last version of iOS 6 on my iPhone 4 and am having the same intermittent problem that has been ongoing since early May.

The problem began after AOL's servers were hacked in April and after AOL sent an email out to its users encouraging them to change their passwords. I believe, in response to the breach, AOL changed its servers or added more software that is causing push to fail intermittently. Right now, at 9 p.m. Central Daylight Time, it isn't working again. Tomorrow morning, all might be well. Tomorrow afternoon, who knows?

And, at 9:57 p.m., push is working again. I just got an email that "dinged-dinged" me without my having to fetch it.
