iTunes Match on the iPhone 4 uses all free space

iTunes Match on the iPhone 4 uses all available space (8GB). The deactivation and reactivation does not work. The problem persists! Even unplugging the Apple ID and opening the Music app there are still all the artists, playlists, albums, etc. etc. (in the settings app music occupies 0 bytes! Have not saved songs). I have already restored three times! restarting iPhone available space returns to 8GB, opening the Music app after a few minutes iOS noted that the space is occupied.

iPad 2 and iPhone 3GS regularly work with the same Apple ID!

Any advice?

Exact same problem as Carloleg mentions.. I called Apple and the rep was very nice, but pretty insistent that they had not heard of this before and that most likely it was due to user error on my end and not hardware/software related. I explained that there were plenty of other people posting about the same issue.

All I want Match and iTunes to do on my iPhone is to function as if it were a basic mp3 player and play what is stored in my cloud...don't need anything downloaded. This has been going on about 4 months now and still no fix. C'mon Apple....y'all better than this,

I've been having this problem for quite a while, on iPhone 4, 4S, iPad Mini and iPad Mini with retina. I'm hoping IOS8 will fix this issue, has anyone who is testing IOS8 been reporting the same issues?

On the plus side, I know I'm not alone in this problem. I renew my itunes match in October so I have till then to decide what to do but at the moment it seems more hassle not convenience, AND I'm paying for it.

I just logged in to state that i have exactly the same problem.

Apple Music slowly eats up all the free memory. Nothing helped until i made a full backup+restore of my iPhone from scratch. However, this is the worst possible "workaround", and after restoring it, Apple Music starts all over again. From 4GB i am already down to 3.5GB in two hours now.

Streaming Music is virtually impossible now.

I've got the same problem with Match eating up my "other" data. This is my first post on this issue and I don't see that anyone has mentioned the correlation between the "other" data size and by going to Settings, General, About, and look at the number of songs. I updated from ios8 to ios9 and I'm still having the same problem. I had over 700 songs in the About, songs area so I did a full restore, upgraded to ios9 and it went down to zero songs. It then started adding songs as soon as I started playing Match. I have a Genius Bar appointment next weekend and will update then.
