Mail will not open
Mail will not open on my Mac OSX running lion 10.7.5. When I click the icon in applications or the dock, Mail appears in the Menu bar but nothing else happens. HELP

If you don't know, you're not using it.
Followed your instructions faithfully. When I tried to open MAIL this appeared
I clicked continue it went "ping" and dissappeared of the screen, but nothing happened and Mail will still not open
On May 12, you wrote that you had tried and failed to start up and log in in safe mode. On May 18, you wrote that you had done it. Which of those statements was correct?
On May 12th I could only Log in when I released the Shift Key (not when I held it down as per instructions) and
after Mail was completely unresponsive.
On May 18th I logged in as Guest, but Mail was completely unresponsive.
I could only Log in when I released the Shift Key
Enter the password. Press and hold the shift key. Click Log In.
I have;
1. Entered the password.
2. Pressed and held Shift key.
3. Clicked Log in.
It started up in Safe mode and I tested in Safe Mode, but MAIL is still completely unresponsive.
You seem to have made a little bit of progress since all this started. You now launch Mail, and something happens instead of nothing. Please post another log extract, as you did on May 12, showing what happens when you click the Continue button.
When I try the action that is giving me trouble, NO messages appear in the Console Window ( Console window title - ALL MESSAGES)
If all the facts are as you've stated, I can't come up with any theory except that the hardware is faulty.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional—ask if you need guidance.
If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

Apple also recommends that you deauthorize a device in the iTunes Store before having it serviced.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

Using Force Quit and clicking on the menu bar did not work for me, but when I clicked on Launchpad and then clicked on the Mail icon, my Apple mail did open -- thanks for the help!
