the operation cannot be completed because you do not have permission to access

Hope someone can help? I have search previous threads and asked google but to no avail... I am trying to copy my iTunes (complete) to another drive. I get so far then get the message that I cannot continue the operation cannot be completed because you do not have permission to access. I have checked each file individually and all are read and write and non are locked. Why is this happening?

Then you should use iTunes Match, note that this is not iCloud. It stores a maximum of 25,000 songs not purchased from iTunes and an unlimited number of songs that were. It will easily accomadate your music.

i tried the cloud sync they offer - that was hilarious!

There is no iCloud sync for music, that is a part of iTunes and does not require an iCloud account.

Quite a few voice memos that I want to keep - recordings from lectures etc.

Voice memos may optionally be included.

Want to tell me about your photo library now?

Sorry - I meant iTune Match. I started a thread on here months ago - it just didn't work for me! I guess you're suggesting I go for it again - and how does that help me with amy itunes on the go when my iphone/ipad is memory full?

As for iphotos - well.... I just want all my photos with me to share on the go realy - at the moment I have approx 12,000 which grows daily! and then of course there is the 'odd' movie/video too!

The music files stay on iCloud, and you can play them on the phone, you can optionally download them to the phone but that would defeat the object.

The photos will be more difficult, you can't share an iPhoto Library and PhotoStreams limits are too low.

I would advise that you start a new post in the iPhoto forum, there are some knowledgeable iPhoto users there who may have methods.

Im there already - I have time machine running constantly and I have an external hard drive holding all my photos and music. Thanks for the tip though... Ive been in a position before where I lost all my photos of my first child - that was on windows - oncve semi recovered (of a fashion) i started using my lovely Mac and I feel so much better - just need to be sure though - and that's why I have time machine and an additonal off site hard drive. the off site one's a bit of a pain - trying to keep it up to date - but I work around it. thanks for all your advice. Stressing all the time - 3 teenagers (1 disabled) and GCSE's and A Levels and 3 laptops,3 desktops, 1 iMac (m-i-n-e) 4 ipads, 4 iphones and numerous ipods - arrrggghhhh. Love it though!
