Faint White spots on LCD Display

Hi,

I have a few faint white spots on the LCD display of my Macbook Pro. I had similar problems with a previous Powerbook G4. The white spots are about the size of a Canadian nickel and are right in the middle of the display. Since they are in the middle of the display, they are quite annoying. I already tried cleaning the screen many, many times.

I tried to call Applecare but they wouldn't even listen what I had to say since I was outside the 90 day phone support. I was under the impression that the Macbook Pro had a warranty of 1 year; but if they won't listen to what I have to say, how can I get them to do any warranty service on my laptop?

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It is really disappointing that powerbooks and macbook pro get this white spots for bad manufacture.
Apparently just the operating system keeps improving while the hardware keeps downgrading its components. I went with one of this gus who repairs computers and I say a couple of mac laptops during its surgery process and it is incredible that the cable to which the display is plugged with, is just held with tape and it is common that with the warming and cooling of the machine it comes off and makes short circuit.

I hope there is a solution for the white spots, created because they decided to paint the back of the lcd with white paint just to save the white background.

I have the same problem since one week. 2 brighter patches one like a C in the left middle part the other more circular in the right part. They are about 2 cm wide. As I do a lot of photo editing it is very disturbing !
I will call Apple care this afternoon. Don't know how long it will take if they have to fix it. How did the apple care respond to your requests ?

My 12" PB G4 exhibits this weird, white colored "C" pixel issue as well. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what it was or how it got there. I still don't know really, but I do know that cleaning the screen doesn't help.

Based on the fact that the discoloration is directly behind the Apple Logo, I'm betting that something is applying a little pressure to the backside of the LCD. Over time, this pressure has started to cause a visible sign of wear on the front of the display.

Anyone else care to state their theories??

Same thing here.
I have 3 white dots around the center of my display (MAcBook Pro 15)
I bought the machine about a year ago.
A replacement would be nice.
(I know none of my sentences are intelligent nor productive, still I just wanted to say that the spots are there, and if there are so many people with the same problem we all should get a replacement) This machines are sooooooo expensive!! and this at least what apple could do since we are the customers, the ones that pay, the ones that make possible apple existence.
