MacBook Pro 13' Retina Late 2013 Trackpad, EFI and Boot ROM Version issue?

Hello Everyone,

This is my first question on Apple communities, since I am fairly new to Mac OS

So I have purchased a MacBook Pro 13' Retina late 2013 a couple of weeks ago, and I noticed that there is a little bit of lagging in the Trackpad and keyboard, like if I leave the laptop for about 5 or more seconds, and come back to swipe up or down the Trackpad doesn't respond right away, I mean it lags a little then it works just fine until I leave it again and come back to it later. This is very annoying, and it does happen to the keyboard as well, because if I leave the laptop and come back to press anything in the keyboard, it will not respond right away it will take a second to respond! (I literally do not touch it for about 5 seconds and it does lag after I start using it)

I have contacted Apple, went to the store and exchanged it with a nother one, but unfortunately, same problem exists!

Here is what I noteiced though, When I looked at the Boot ROM version, I noticed that it is different from all the other (same) model MacBook I have tried either at the store or even by researching online.

My ROM and SMC are:

Boot ROM Version: MBP111.0138.B07

SMC Version (system): 2.16f63

Now every single MacBook I have tried has a different ROM version and even SMC version. For the ROM, I found out that the version is MBP111.0138.B03, and mine is "B07" (the last three degits)

By the way, My Mack is like I said Retina 13' Late 2013, has a 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD, 2.4GHz i5.

Again I have tried the same exact model at the store, and found out that the correct version is installed which is not mine I believe

Can someone please tell me why my ROM version is different, I mean I am running the same OS Apple store computers are running which is 10.9.3

Any help will be highly appreciated!

Thanks

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.3)

I have the same problem. I have bought a Macbook Pro with the same configuration (256GB SSD, 2.4GHZ i5) and the problem seems to appear constantly. I think that it is a general problem. I am on my fith macbook Pro, one had a problem with the Wifi and the other four had this problem with the trackpad (including the one that I am using right now). The guy from the Apple Store did not know what to do. Is very annoying to have an expensive computer with those kind of problems. If someone know what to do to fix this problem, please help us!

I was talking to the Apple Support Center and they don´t know what the problem is. They make me do a PRAM and a SMC, that didn´t solve the problem.

Maybe is a problem only for 13 " retina Macbook Pro late 2013, because I also have an Air and it doesn´t have it.

Can someone from Apple give us an answer? I´m waiting for a fix or something, I hope they understand that it is a frustrating problem.

Thank you guys for replying!

Apple Called me back with the Engineers' answer, and they said that my machine has the latest Boot ROM version and firmware, because it came from the factory preinstalled just recently.

But I did not like their answer, so I told them that other machines (same as my model) still have a different version, and I told the senior advisor that if mine has the LATEST version installed, then I want the OLDER version back (

MBP111.0138.B03) not the one I HAVE (

MBP111.0138.B07)

So I will let you guys know if I get an answer, because this is annoying, but it is not a hardware issue, it is software related!

I've done the same and they all are B03, none has the B07 so I might think that is this version of Boot Rom that is causing the problem. I have to say that if you look at the console, there's the log ¨The USB trackpad and keyboard... wake issue...¨, but I don't think that the problem comes from there because in the B03 version, the same log appears and there's no lag. I hope Apple fix it soon because is no funny to have this lag on a brand new $1500 computer.

In logs I can see "kernel[0]: The USB device Apple Internal Keyboard / Trackpad (Port 5 of Hub at 0x14000000) may have caused a wake by issuing a remote wakeup (2)" when move the trackpad if it was stopped around 5 seconds, but if I have a usb mouse or usb memory connected this don't happen and works fine.

guys, could you try that??
