SantefeNM,
did 8.2 on the 6 allow you to stream phone calls. I rarely video, so that glitch won't bother me, but being able to stream calls successfully is a must. I am itching to activate my 6, but don't want to be sorry that I did.
Hi Lan. I updated and streaming phone calls is still not working reliably. To be honest I can't get any of the connectivity features to work reliably.
i posted earlier that I had not been able to pair my Halos at all with my new iPhone 6. This morning, I installed the iOS 8.0.2 update and was able to immediately pair the right H/A through the Accessibility/Hearing Aid function in Settings, but the left H/A will not pair at all -- all I can see is that miserable spinning sunburst symbol. I followed the exact same steps as with the right H/A. Is there a trick to getting the left H/A to pair? (I had none of these problems with iPhone 5 and iOS 7.)
Thanks for the info. They need a don't like button on here. Apple and Starkey really need to address this ASAP. So many people are dependant on this combination. 😠
SSimply, in a word, no. This update (8.02) was actually built prior to Starkey realizing that there is an issue with iOS 8. My belief still is that there is an issue that lies with WiFi and Bluetooth. I believe that it is exasperated by the 'hand off' feature found only in iOS 8. I can stream both audio and voice calls but both are not robust and connection is marginal. We just have to wait for Starkey and Apple to resolve this issue as a team. Nothing we can do at this point.
No improvememt as others have said. Was not expecting anything given the reported "fixes.
I had success repeatly turning both aids on and off until the phone finally recognized both. Still all that permits is microphone volumn adjustments.
Great discovery, turning WiFi off while pairing. Just got 6+ yesterday and wasn't able to pair until NOW, after reading your post. While I still cannot program geotag settings, I can use the embedded options, using tripple click. This will suffice until Apple & Starkey work it out. If they are reading these posts, they might profit from user experiences.
NEW information!
I found that when I was having trouble recording VIDEO, I also could not use the MICROPHONE to "talk to Siri", NOR could I record a VOICE MEMO. Rebooting with Bluetooth off solved ALL THREE ISSUES. Now, what do they have in common? THE MICROPHONE! Remember, I could take PICTURES but not VIDEO. Pictures do NOT use the MICROPHONE.
Guys & Guyettes, we're narrowing this down! Everything was fine on iOS7, so the things we have in common are:
Starkey Halos
Bluetooth
THE MICROPHONE and
iOS 8
I tried taking a video again and without making any changes it worked and saved just like this morning. I had not rebooted with Bluetooth off. Oddly while viewing the video music from the Music app started playing (Right ear only) All seems totally random.
Another oddity under Settimg, About the number of videos are greater than those saved by the number of missing ones not found in the Photo app.
I havent been able to use Suri since the update to my 5. Wasn't sure what was going on. I only use frequently. Now I know. Really Starkey and Apple should be ashamed of themselves. This isn't a game, Facebook, Twitter this is people depending on a device to hear and try to live a normal life. Absolutely shameful on both their parts.
Third party camera apps are also recording video with sound. I failed to try them before.
Folks, I think a step back here is in order. Keep in mind that the connection to the iPhone is not necessary to the normal use of our Starkey Halos. That connection enhances the use of the Halos, but it does not in itself render the Halos useless if it is not available. If you have such a serious environmental requirement that a particular setting on the iPhone is critical to your survival, may I suggest that a visit to your audiologist might be in order?
I have been dealing with information technology personally and professionally since 1979. That new devices on the market (iPhone 6) and new software on the market (iOS 8) are a bit wonky is nothing we should have been completely unprepared for. To me, this is a known pattern. It has repeated itself numerous times over the years. This is precisely why I am one the iPhone replacement schedule with my carrier that I am. I have 18 months before I am up for a new phone. That is plenty of time to work out the kinks.
Calls to take Apple and Starkey to the woodshed because the connection between their devices is not perfect right out of the gate are completely out of line. The two companies are both in highly competitive marketplaces. Showing one's hand too early in either market could reduce or eliminate profits for a significant time.
For those of you who were quick to pull the trigger on the new iPhone and are now complaining, caveat emptor.

Aye. And I'm pretty sure that some engineer is monitoring this blog to find out just what kind of issues we're having, and to see where our investigation is taking us. Hopefully, as we uncover new clues, there are some white-coated guys and guyettes in sneakers investigating each of those clues.
We are the guinea pigs. Our squealing and repeated tries should be helping solve this riddle.
dogsitter, we have no evidence that our "squealing and repeated tries" are NOT helping to solve the riddle. However, I don't have so little faith in health care workers or humans in general to assume they are waiting for a little-used forum (how many Starkey wearers actually post here? Darn few.) to point out the issues.
Folks, please keep in mind that Starkey got the word out the day the iPhone 6 was released that upgrading to that device by Halo users was folly. They also told us they would have a solution as soon as possible. My 5C and 5S have been performing flawlessly throughout and even through the iOS 8.0.2 upgrade.
