My Macbook Pro is going extremely slow. Please help

Hi. My macbook pro that I purchased in 2010 has been running extremley slow the past few months. Especially when I run anything like spotify or netflix. My computer gets extremley hot to the point I can probably flip it over and cook eggs on it!! The fan is extremley loud! It is extremley slow compared to how it was when i first purchased this bad boy. It has even crashed a few times this week and when I turn it back on it gives me a message saying it crashed because of a system error or something like that. I ran an etreCheck but I dont know exactly how to understand it. Can anyone help me out?

To stop SymSecondayAgent from executing, do System Preferences > Users & Groups. Select your account, then click the tab lableled "Login Items."

That process should show in the list of login items:

Highlight it and click the "minus" button I've indicated in the above image. That won't remove it from the computer but it will "neuter" it so it is not running. Right now, it is launching whenever your start the computer.

I followed every bit of advice in this discussion and my computer is still running slow!!!

This is ridiculous! The whole point of getting an Apple computer is so you won't have to deal with this ****.

What do I have to do to fix this?

Everytime I turn it on the fan goes 1000mph and the computer heats up. It lags to do any task.

This computer is still running slow and it is almost unusable at this point. This is unexpected from a 13 inch macbook pro. This is supposed to be a top of the line omputer yet I can't even open safari or pages or keynote or ANYTHING!! without it taking 20 minutes to load and my computer heating up to 500 degrees!!! What the **** is going on?

I have followed all instructions given by you guys and I see absolutely no improvement. I ran another etre check. Here is the info. Can anyone help me please?

You did it yourself to your mac.

After everything rubbish that you have installed yourself, and now uninstalled (hopefully):

1. You have the notorious "black" google auto updater, which is running erratically.

Against my feelings for relatively unknown software: download GoogleUpdateUninstaller, here

http://wireload.net/products/guu-google-update-uninstaller/

run it according to the instructions on that page, and it will block this auto updater for good.

Then throw away this uninstaller, and note where you downloaded it.

Restart the mac.

2. Uninstall all HP apps and drivers that you can find.

Uninstall DivX completely.

Update the Flashplayer.

3. Never download software again from sites like Softonic, CNET download.com macupdate and the like.

UNINSTALL the Macupdate Desktop software and the equivalents of Softonic, CNET, if you have them.

Restart.

4. Restart again while holding the shift key.

Restart again.

5. Do the SMC reset, the link is earlier in this thread.

6. Restart again, do the PRAM reset.

Restart again.

Regularly empty the trash bin.

Make a new list as above, and eventually also a new etrecheck list.

I followed the first step and uninstalled the black google auto upgraded but...

What HP apps, Divx, and flash player are you talking about? Do you mean adobe flash? I thought that was necessary for using the internet and stuff like that. Am i wrong?

I can't really find the HP apps and I could have sworn I already uninstalled Divx

I finished uninstalling all that crap and I updated the flash player. I did all the restarts including the SMC and PRAM reset. Here are the results for the new etre check and I am running a diagnostics right now.
