Recommendation on the best HDV Camcorder to buy?

I've just had my SONY TRV900 stolen and now need to purchase a new camcorder. I would like HDV, 3CCD and portability. I do some video work but don't need a full Ppr level camcorder yet. Can anyone recommend a good HDV camcorder with 3CCD and good quality output?

So far, all but $200 has been refunded - but even the $200 is in dispute and therefore AMEX does not require that I pay that portion while it's in dispute. My question to AMEX is "why do you allow CCI Camera City - Royal Camera to remain an AMEX merchant?" I have demanded that their merchant account be pulled. They have a letter from me and referral to the Rip-Off Report website. AMEX needs to watch their business practices carefully or somebody will hold them accountable.

Mike, I just went thru the same thing w/ CCI and
Amex. I could not get my shipping charges of $450
refunded though.... could you?
This is how I believe these jerks make any money
anyway.

Well - I'm sorry for speaking well of Buydig.com. I have paid the price for not buying my HVX from an authorized dealer. Because I bought my HVX200 from buydig.com for $4900 (a $400 savings), I will not be receiving the free P2 card that would have been coming to me ($1200 value) and according to Panasonic, my USA warranty is not valid. But - my warranty might be valid in the market for which my camera was originally intended (maybe Puerto Rico).

Man ... seems like everything is a scam these days.

I just bought my CAM2 from B&H Photo. These folks ARE authorized ... I will use B&H in the future.

Lesson learned.

Mike
