Garageband 10.0.2 not exporting large files

In Garageband 10.0.02, I get the error msg that my files are too big to export, and I need to reduce the bounce region or convert to CAF format ... I could export similar files easily before and have no idea how to fix this. What is a bounce file or CAF? I can't find any information on how to remedy this.

Joining all regions worked great! Thanks.

By the way, is there an easy way to simply divide a GB file into two? In the past, when I had this trouble with longer episodes of my podcast, I created a new file and had to move the latter parts of the show over to it, and line them up correctly all over again. Kind of a pain. Is there an easier way?

Duplicate the project. In the copy split all tracks at the same point and then delete all regions in the first half of the project.

Or use the arrangement track: Define two arrangement markers - one for the first half of the project, one covering the second part of the project. Then delete the first arrangement marker together with its regions in the copy of the project, and the second arrangement marker together with its regions in the original project.

From the GarageBand 10 Help:

Delete an arrangement marker together with its regions

Select the arrangement marker, then press Delete to delete the regions in the Tracks area below the arrangement marker so it’s empty. Press Delete again to delete the arrangement marker.

This is a typical example that the GarageBand code is basically Logic code, just with features disabled/removed. This error message is a Logic error message where you can change the file format to CAF. Looks like the programmers overlooked that message and didn't remove the "CAF" related text.

Hope that helps

hi - this doesn't work for me. Don't suppose you / or anyone else have any other solution ?

I've tried everything mentioned on here - I need CD quality file saved from Garageband. Really frustrating.

Only thing that works is I've created a Soundcloud Account - uploaded the file to there. Downloaded the file and loaded into ITunes, But the file is compressed to **** now.

Thanks in advance.
