Why am I getting a popup window asking me to login to mevio?

Not long after I start Itunes, a popup window appears telling me to access a podcast I need to login to www.mevio.com. In the several years I have been using itunes, specifically for podcasts, I have never seen this window before. It will not allow me to make any entry, nor close it, nor close itunes. itunes will show as not responding on the windows task manager. I ran the repair function available in Windows Software and nothing changed. I am unable to run itunes for anything - play music, watch podcasts, etc.

I'm not sure they've been making any lately, but they've certainly acted as a gateway to those produced by others. That gateway has been closed which has caused the current issue. Your "The Art of Photography" podcast is alive and well at the following feed address:

http://s3.amazonaws.com/Public-Broadcast/aop-itunes.xml

You can use File > Subscribe to Podcast and paste in the URL, or track down the podcast in the iTunes Store and subscribe from there:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-art-of-photography/id294540619?mt=2&ign- mpt=uo%3D4

I have dozens of podcasts and didn't know which one was causing the problem that started on June 9. After right-clicking on each podcast folder and selecting "Show description," I located the one using a mevio.com feed. It was an anime video podcast my daughter subscribed to a couple of years ago. Unsubscribing didn't get rid of the pop-up, but deleting the podcast did.

There's a very simple and clean solution to this problem.

1) In iTunes, export your podcast subscriptions to OPML:

a) View Podcasts in "List" mode

b) FIle | Library | Export playlist

2) Load the resulting Podcasts.opml file (an XML file) into a text editor.

3) In the text editor, search the file for "mevio".

4) In iTunes, delete/unsubscribe any podcast associated with mevio.com..

Also having this problem.
It was letting me in for a while and I thought I had deleted the offending podcasts, but now it is locking me out completely from iTunes. I have tried every variation on holding down shift and control keys to no avail. I deleted podcast subscriptions that I suspected through my iPad podcast app, where I was able to get in despite getting the message there too, and still cant get in to iTunes on my desktop. I have deleted and reloaded iTunes, but mevio.com continues to block me from having any access to iTunes whatsoever.
Not only can I not get into the store or my music collection, I can't sync or back up any of my Apple devices or calendars.

All of my Apple stuff is becoming useless. Mevio.com is wiping it out.

Why am I getting a popup window asking me to login to mevio?
