Match process stalling out at end

I've been using iTunes Match for about a year and a half and have started experiencing a new problem in the last couple of days. I've added a few new tracks to my library over the last couple of days and have attempted to "Update iTunes Match." However, the matching process is stalling out at the end. It looks like it's just about to finish but then it never does. I have downloaded the most up-to-date version of iTunes, I have stopped and restarted the "Update iTunes Match" process numerous times. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times. I have restarted my computer and started over. Etc. Etc. and the same problem keeps occurring. Last night, I let the matching process continue overnight and it still had not finished in the morning. I am at my wit's end at this point. It's only 11 new songs that I'm trying to get iTunes to Match. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to resolve this problem? Thanks!

I hate this type of reply. It is so frustrating when they give you a generic reply even after you have described all the steps you have taken to troubleshoot. It's like they don't even read or try to understand the issue but instead create a reply based on a few keywords they found in your email. Generic email messages like this only make it worse. Why isn't there a way to get a status on the issue that is affecting large numbers of people ? UGH

It is working sometimes for me now. But one thing I noticed which may be causing confusion is that the iCloud status shows "waiting" in iTunes, but if I close iTunes and relaunch it, the status changed to "Upload" and it's not because it uploaded upon relaunch. I noticed the discrepancy in the status when I clicked on the "Match" tab and that showed that all music was available in iTunes match. That's what made me think that the music was uploaded but the status in iTunes had not been changed. I also verified by opening iTunes on another Mac and it showed the status as "Uploaded" even though the status on the Mac that did the uploading still showed "Waiting"

I'm tempted to cancel the auto renew on iTunes match if this continues on much longer, not much point in having a service that partially functions. Might be time to look at alternatives out there.

What's frustrating is the only workaround I have for this is to go back to tethering my iPhone and other devices and manually syncing my iMac, MacBook Pro's and iPhone. This means I have to choose one of my Mac's to tether the iPhone to 😟

45 minute phone call from Apple (UK) who connected remotely, talked me through the process of what I am doing and where it is stalling, disconnected router and reconnected, did all the usual things like turn off match and turn on, and then he himself stumbled as not knowing what to do, but will be phoning me back on Monday (playing for time).

But he did make me believe that another upgrade will be due very soon, to resolve these issues. Do I believe him.

I had a problem with Match last week (I was among the first who posted a complaint/query) but it has been working for me over the past few days without any problems. All music that I have added (several dozen digital albums - bought from Amazon/other mp3 digital stores, such as Bandcamp) to iTunes has been Matched (not only added to cloud but matched as mp4). I did a bunch of albums last night.

So, Match *is* working for some people, including those who were unable to use the service last week. Someone evidently changed something and fixed something - but evidently that change hasn't affected every user...

I will pile on here as well.

I am bummed I did not see this post yesterday morning. My problem is that I believed Apple's minimalist Match marketing webpage and signed up for the service yesterday afternoon.

Step 1 &2 seemed to work. Step causes iTunes to crash on my 64 bit Windows 7 PC. This ***** that I have 2,100 songs that will not upload. I want a refund. Why would I want a service that is useless for 1/3 of my music?

I think people should just be more patient. For me, Match worked for over a year and was satisfied with that. Now as it is broken, nothings helps but waiting.

I still have all my music that is already matched in the cloud and can listen to that. I can understand when the Developers/Techs at Apple need longer as usually to fix things, because they are all busy with other things for example this support forum, iOS 8 and Mac OS X beta 2 was just released yesterday ( really good bug fixes and improvements in just 2 weeks).. But forget about the Tech Supports, they are just dumb employees that can even understand mails. Im sure some of the devs have that problem too and will fix it somedays.
