trailers app is terrible

SInce the update before last, the Trailers App has become so slow it's unusable. I've got the ATV via ethernet and have good bandwidth. It used to work fine but now it pre-loads for 90 + seconds before the trailer starts and it still ends up stalling two or three times near the end of the trailer. Like I said: It used to be fine but now it's terrible.

If you have done a reboot, reset, restore and verified your network (as above) then I would take it to Apple for testing.

The poster has stated that ONLY the Trailers app is exhibiting this behavior. And I can confirm his observation. If I attempt to watch a trailer using the Trailer app I get buffering, stalls, hiccups, etc., on just about every stream. If I watch the EXACT SAME TRAILER using the Movies app instead there is absolutely NO problem. In my case this has been going for quite some time now, so much so that I now normally watch trailers using the Movies app only. I agree with poster @mattbill that there is something not right with the Trailers app and I suspect that it’s a server priority issue (just my personal suspicion). And, by the way, I’m using an AppleTV 2.

Now, my apple tv is out of warranty but clearly there is nothing wrong with my unit. The issue appears to be related to the trailers app.

I've read somewhere that the app uses https connection because the trailers app is used to perform a hack on apple tv.

It's up to Apple to make this app usable again. How can I chat with an apple representative for assistance without having to pay for out of warranty support when clearly this has nothing to do with my apple tv unit?

If your device is out of warranty you cannot chat with Apple tech support without paying a fee.
