No Equalizer icon

As far as I can tell, the Equalizer icon that used to reside in the lower right hand corner of the iTunes window has disappeared. Now, the only way to access the equalizer is by going to View > Show Equalizer which brings up a separate window.

Would be nice if the Equalizer icon came back.

Don't complain. I can't even get the Equalizer
window to show up after hitting "Show Equalizer" in
the View and/or Window menus. How can iTunes have
these kinds of glitches in version 7?

Don't know about this problem. You are running the PPC version of iTunes 7. Have you also made sure you updated Quicktime to 7.1.3? Also, did you repair permissions and disk problems after installing new software? Give all of those routine maintenance tasks a spin and see if that solves your problems.

Hi Don

I'm suffering the same trouble with the equalizer.

Got a partial fix if you drop down the VIEW list and switch on visualiser and then click the screen so visualiser is turned off the equaliser comes into view.. .. ..

only trouble is the equaliser is a blank white box.. ..

Sorry thats about as useful as a rocking horse for getting anywhere but i tried.. ..

Here's your temporary workaround that will allow you to at least set your equalizer preferences.

Open iTunes.
Set your monitor to millions of colors.
Choose "View Equalizer" (Nothing will happen)
Immediately quit iTunes
Reopen iTunes (Your equalizer should now be visible)
Set your equalizer to your preference
Set your monitor to thousands of colors
Quite iTunes
Reopen iTunes

Good luck

To Create a Keyboard Shortcut for the Equaliser:

Go to System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Keyboard Shortcuts

scroll down to Application Keyboard Shortcuts and click on it once to Select it.

click on the +

Select iTunes from the Applications drop down

Type Show Equalizer in the Menu Title Box

Type ⌘2 in the Keyboard Shortcut Box

Click Add

Quit System Preferences. Open Itunes. Press ⌘2
