Mapping Service?

Hi All

1 G data normally last me an entire month. Since Last week something is using up all my data and normally under Cellular you can see a breakdown of what uses your data. Right at the bottom there is a link called System Services and if I click on that I can see Mapping Service is using up all my data? I have turned off everyting possible that I think can have any impact to this but its still using my data. I have even turned off location services (which was not turned off before and previous months I did not have any problems) but its still using up my data?

Please help???

I am in Zimbabwe and am also having the same problem i had reached out for help but nothing. have used 2 network providers in zim but still the problem follows me.

I'm in Rwanda with Airtel and since this weekend exactly the same issue; 2 GB gone overnight to "Mapping Services".

Airtel has upgraded their antennas in the past week, so maybe there's an issue there as it never happened to me before and the mini iPad (retina) has the same settings as before...

Great to hear of solutions...

ps. it's is curious to see that most complains seem to come from east/southern african providers...

it's not a network problem .. It's an iOS problem .. Deleted your twitter and Facebook accounts from the account section in settings .i think it's an issue with the location sharing of twitter

I neither have twitter nor facebook accounts (or apps); so that can't be the issue

Turnoff location services, background app refresh & sign out from apple account & then we can solve data consuming issue

exchange accounts are working fine in iOS, if you have any issues, please contact your mail provider.

Mapping Services

iTunes Accounts

Push Notifications

Networking

Messaging Services

Documents & Sync

Siri

Find My iPhone

Security Services

Home Screen

What's frustrating and troubling is you don't actually have to be using these services to incur usage - merely accessing a related menu item just to see what setting it is manages to nibble on your data!

I BEEN TRYING TO UNDERSTAND 'DATA USGE' TO RESTRICT IT FOR MMS and GROUP MESSAGING ONLY !!

lesson learned don't even try to access that menu item to see what setting it is on-it will eat your data. it is a beasty problem.

Ok guys you all seem to have missed a couple posts in here, turn off frequent locations and improve maps. To do so go into privacy>location services>system services and scroll down to find frequent locations and improve maps. Hope it helps🙂
