ios 7.1.2 update stopped 1/3 way in

I am updating to ios 7.1.2. It downloaded, rebooted and stuck on the Apple screen with the progress bar around 1/3 done.

I can't switch the device off by holding the power button. Don't know what to do. Please Help!!

I pressed and hold the Home button and the on/off button for a few second then the device shut off. I turned it on again and it booted into the log screen. I logged in and everything looks fine. It says the version is 7.1.2, if i check for update, it says it has the latest version.

I am I am good now. Thank you for your helps.

Yes I did read the thread mod747 and your link which said to wait for the update to finish, which is what I've been doing. I'm going to give up now and force the reboot since there has been no furthermovement of the progress bar since my first post.

And my post was useful as it lets Apple know that the problem is not an isolated incident. The more people who let them know the better.

Same thing happened to me... on both iPhone and iPad. Downloaded 7.1.2, update started, got to about 1/3 of the way through progress bar and just froze there for over 45 minutes. Resolution was to power-cycle them both... home button + power button for 5 secs. Device reboots, looks like it might try the update again (progress bar starts) but then it reboots again to my lock screen. Device says it's at 7.1.2 with no updates available.
