Accidentally deleted downloads icon from dock. How to get it back?

I just downloaded Mavericks and accidentally deleted the downloads icon from the dock (the one that showed recent downloads in a nifty arch when you clicked on it.) I tried just dragging the downloads folder to the dock, but that wasn't the same. I want to get the original back. Help?

It seems like a post with "ages"...

I recently came across the same issue... I googled for solution as usual, then it lead me to this post.

My solution is:

--Drag "download"(hold on to the click and move) to the dock after opening the "Finder";

--"Secondary Click" (Click pad with two finger) then it will show up a list table

--Then, you can choose,

Sort by: date added;

Display as: Stack ;
