Safari 7.1 Seed 1 Developer Preview
This update just appeared in my Mac App Store pane in Preferences.
I'm not sure if this has appeared in error or not and if I should go ahead and install the update.

I also unexpectedly received the beta of Safari 7.1 which was automatically installed onto my late 2011 MBP. At the time I had only five extensions installed. On first opening Safari 7.1, a dialog advised me to re-enable those extensions that I felt were safe. From Preferences I began to re-enable my extensions, but on checking the Enable box for LastPass I got a spinning beach-ball and Safari 7.1 was totally locked up. I force-quit then went to my Library/Internet Plugins folder and removed the LastPass plugin. I was then able to restart Safari with apparently no loss of data, settings, or bookmarks. At this point everything seemed to be functioning normally. I downloaded the latest version of LastPass and reinstalled it but when Safari restarted so did the beach-ball. Anyone else seen this? I sent a bug report to both the LastPass people and to Apple (thru the feedback page since I'm not in any developer or tester program).
Yes. I saw this exact same problem, and did the exact same thing.
Same issue here. Searching for solution still
I had some luck by installing the 10.9.4 update overtop: OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Update (Combo)
Status report
1. Just off the phone with Apple phone support. We went through a number of simpler, less involved solutions, but nothing worked. So...
2. Ultimately Apple advised me to reinstall OS X. (If you use FileVault2 for disk encryption, be sure to have the key code before starting this process.)
3. Re-start the computer holding down Command-R and select OS X reinstall
My DSL connection is quite slow, and the download will take some time. Apple expects this will fix the issue. That several user forum members have reported success with same approach, makes me hopeful.
Thank you to all user forum members who've highlighted this issue.
Interesting, it is j ust a jocke they ask for a complete reinstall.
I think they might have a class action on this, as it is disturbing lots of people in their daily work...
After much trial and error I found a way to get into LastPass with Safari 7.1Beta. A short recap - after trying to reinstall LastPass, reopening Safari 7.1 causes a full lockup of Safari with a spinning beachball. Following a force-quit, I removed nplastpass.plugin from my Library/Internet Plugins folder and I was able to start Safari. Now at this point I happened to open Customize Toolbar… and discovered the LastPass icon was still there, so I moved it back to the toolbar. Clicking on it brought up the usual LastPass login drop-down menu. Problem was, I could not enter any text at all in the email and password fields. On a chance I clicked on the little keyboard icon and I got the same login drop-down on the opposite site of the toolbar and I could login there. I tried to repeat this a couple of times and got some variations - instead of being able to login, I was taken to a webpage login for LastPass. And this is what I'm getting now regularly. I log in on the webpage, my vault opens up and the LastPass toolbar icon turns fro grey to black. Everything functions normally after that until I log out. Hope this helps with regard to LastPass.
I've decided that I want to continue using 7.1 just for the heck of it but if I did want to go back this is what I'd try. I always keep a bootable, complete, mirror copy of my system on an external drive in addition to my TimeMachine backup. I'd boot from my external drive, which should allow me to delete the Safari 7.1 app (only the app file itself!), then from the external drive I'd reinstall the 10.9.4 Combo update onto the internal drive. (note: I always find the Combo Updates do a better, more thorough job than the smaller update files.)
The OS X reinstall (see my earlier post about discussion with Apple phone support) was slow, but, yes, it did work. I've reinstalled extensions into Safari 7.0.5 and everything works again. Just an FYI.
I also blundered into installing Safari 7.1 (I am not a developer, nor am I participating in any trial). The application is basically disabled, and I have switched to Chrome until I understand how to fix Safari.
Exactly the same story for me with Safari 7.1 (unintentionally installed), but for me it's the Dashlane extension that causes Safari to be unresposive.
Looks as if Apple is trying to get back into our good books now. There is an "update" to 7.0.5. at the MAS for me. I am not sure if I want to install it and get back to where the majority of Mavericks users are. I haven't had one problem with 7.1 so far.
