iOS 7.1.2 wifi-connection

I just upgraded my iPad3 to iOS 7.1.2 last night. Everything is working fine except for the wifi connection which keeps dropping off every other minute. I have not had any problems with my iPad3 prior to this.

I have tried every troubleshooting method that I have found online (from Airplane mode to rebooting the iPad to restarting the router etc) but nothing works!!

Some things to try first:

1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)

ā€¢ Launch Settings app

ā€¢ Tap on Wi-Fi

ā€¢ Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list

ā€¢ In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Unable to Connect After iOS Update - saw this solution on another post.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.

You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, thereā€™s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

I went on a short vacation after I posted about my iPad issues with iOS7. I left the iPad at home with power Of for 4 full days. Upon my return, I switched on the device and it seems to be working fine now. Wifi has not dropped since. But it is constantly searching for network ---> the sun-like logo beside the wifi logo on the top left is always rotating! Any way to resolve this? ?

OK....so.....what would you think if all three of your Iphones (in your household.....mine, wife and son) quit connecting to wifi........and two are on one provider , Verizon and the other is on Sprint? Do we get to sue Apple for Data Charges run up because of a system that worked before effectively but now doesn't? I'm ******. I'm sitting here at my computer at 12:39 AM after a 1 day trip to the east coast for a funeral, no sleep and find out (from my son who lives with us) that the reason we are facing extra data charges is because what once worked doesn't anymore, Apple is denying it and I am freaking looking for solutions. I'm sure that the phone service providers are delighted with all the over charges. Oh and that's after getting an additional 1 GB per month free from Verizon promotional deal and we just got another data overage warning. I bought apple (lower case intended) because of their rep for products that work and my wife's satisfaction with their products (ipad, iphone and mac). Maybe products don't work since Steve Jobs is gone. Inconvenience is one thing. Costing me money for something everyone else is doing right is another.

I know this is an old post , but thought I would answer in case anyone else had the problem and not solved

as I did the update and my ipad would not connect to my wifi connection , so I went to wifi setting where it says forget this connection

and just rejoin and put in password and it found my connection hope this helps , but I won't be doing another update on my ipad again

I do not have an iPad, but i have had the same issue.

I found that if you click on the "blue i " button next to the network name, Make sure DHCP is highlighted and scroll down to the bottom. you should see something that says "Renew Lease"; press "renew lease".

if you do not have that at the bottom, use another computer to find your domain, Since i have a microsoft computer, I searched for "CMD" (using the search tool on the Microsoft 8 version)", This is the command prompt. once the black box pops up, put in ipconfig and press enter. I manually entered my IP Address and SubNetwork into where it says "Subnet Mask" and then the Router. I hope this helps.
