How do I delete the bookmarks on my iPad when the edit, minus sign, delete and done does not work?

Check here:
Click the Start button > All Programs > look for an iCloud folder

If not

Download iCloud Control Panel 3.1 for Windows

After it installs, sign in with your Apple ID and enable bookmark sync for your preferred browser.

Then make sure bookmarks are being synced on the iPad

All the bookmarks from your computer and iPad should sync to each other.

Then try deleting the bookmarks from the browser on your computer.

Try this:

1. Quit Safari: Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up
2. Settings > Safari > Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
3. Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

What happens when you try to delete them?

Try this:

Quit all apps: Double tap the Home button and swipe the app preview page up for each open app

then

Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)

After deleting them from FireFox the changes are pushed to the iPad?

Do you have Safari enabled in the iCloud settings of the iPad?

Try turning off Safari in the iCloud settings on the iPad but this time select Delete from My iPad, let it finish then turn it back on.

If that does not work, I am officially out of ideas.

I would tell you to wipe the device and set it up as a new device but that seems extreme for a few rogue bookmarks.

Sorry we couldn't get it worked out.

It seems to be some sort of glitch.

With any luck it will just resolve itself.

Maybe someone else will see this and have a solution for you.

Are you syncing your bookmarks via iCloud?

If so, try this:

Settings > iCloud > turn Safari off > Keep on My iPad > wait for it to finish then turn it back on and select Merge

Were these bookmarks synced from iTunes on your computer?

If so you have to unsync them via iTunes.

Connect your iPad to iTunes on your computer.

Select your iPad and go to the Info tab

Scroll down to other and make sure Sync bookmarks with is unchecked. If it isn't, uncheck it and sync.

Are these bookmarks are syncing via iCloud?

If so, try deleting them from another device that also syncs bookmarks with this iCloud account.
