QuickTime Problem

I had some problems with my iTunes setup that, basically, reported that the older version of QuickTime could not be removed. I tried removing it myself from the Add / Remove Programs menu and even from REGEDIT. Nothing happens. Now, when I try to reinstall iTunes (not working because QuickTime is being stupid), I always get an error (error code: -3) at the end of my installation. So, now, I have no way to access iTunes or QuickTime and no way to remove QuickTime from my computer. Please help me. With the kind of work I do, I can't afford to go without QuickTime for much longer.

disclaimer: I am a computer illiterate mom. I just traded in my teenagers ipod nano for one of those new color ones. When she went to use it, it would not work because it needed an itunes upgrade with quicktime 7. I tried to do that but it won't work. I get several error messages. The first being HKEY LOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\QuickTime.QuickTime.4\CLSID. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
I then click OK. The computer then starts Rolling back action.
The next error is Error 1905.Module C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTUIPanelControl.dll failed to unregister. HRESULT -2147220472.
Someone please help!
