Download new iTunes Extras? iTunes 11.3/Apple TV 6.2

I've been struggling with this too. The ITunes experts tell me that the new Extras can be downloaded. The problem is that I don't know how. This seems totally ridiculous.

I've just had an email from Itunes support unfortunately confirming that as from the 10th July, all new Extras can only be streamed. They did apologise for misleading information. So unless something changes it will buy DVDs from now on. So disappointing At least I now know that Extras are for streaming only.

Indeed it was flagged. Apple were not happy with me seeking wisdom from other users as to how this could be challenged. I used a word which caused them to think I was being militant but I wasn't.

I am now contacting them as per their suggestion.

I've given Apple my feedback. I would love to know how many others have been trying to download their Extras and just how many customers have contacted Apple. It really isn't clear that they can now only be streamed..... or will that change again with the onset of IOS 8?

This is absolutely ridiculous. I used to love the extras Because I had instant additional content that I PAID for ready to watch whether I had wifi or not. Streaming the extras creates far to many problems. Firstly, I PAID for the HD version they includes the extras. I should have them. Not be allowed to borrow them. Secondly, if your wifi connection ***** like mine does. the content is going to continually freeze and stop unexpectedly. I would understand that form a free site like youtube. But I PAID for this. streaming extras was an extremely stupid move on apples part. It is a terrible day when people aren't allowed instant access to something they paid for. Instead having to wait for it as if we are renting it for the short amount of time we watch it. Then waiting for hours on end (again, terrible internet connection) for this content to load. And no. It is not additional content. It is PAID content.

I wonder if there is amother way around this? Any ideas?

I had no idea they were starting to exclusively stream extras instead of allowing downloads, until I went to watch "Her" without an internet connection on my Macbook, and then spent and hour on my iPhone online trying to figure out what happened to the extras.

It looks like October 8th was the last time any extras files downloaded for me. APPLE FIX THIS!

I'm so freaking tired of Apple taking aways features (side bar in iTunes) that I bet Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave right now.

I also would like to download the same extras. I am travelling a lot and want to be able to watch them offline. Pls Apple, fix this !!!

The problem is, there are many many geographic locations where streaming is very poor. Until every region in the country has a certain level of internet speed and connectivity, limiting the Itunes extras to streaming leaves a lot of us who paid for the high def versions of films out in the cold. I even have bought a few used gen 1 Apple TV's just because that is the only way I can watch full HD movies from Itunes!

Please Apple, do not assume that streaming is a possibility for all of your customers.

I totally agree with posts here, I think that while it's nice to be able to watch Extra's on my Apple TV (at last), it's awful that in the case of Movies like the Hobbit they cannot be downloaded any more.

Some of these extra's are so large, that it's not even practical to stream them on some Broadband connections, and if the Internet goes down you can't access them at all, which can be annoying in the middle of watching something.
