Iphoto is not recognizing RAW photos from the new Nikon D810

Is there an available upgrade?

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)

Hi,

Adobe DNG converter does not accept to convert my new photos from the D810.

I am using DNG Version 6.2.0.28 on my iMac and get the following message after selecting the folder with my images to convert (all are labeled FNL_xxx.NEF and are over 75MB each).

I'll be very grateful to receive any comment on what I might be doing wrong?

Adobe LR trial downloading now since APPLE is lamentably letting us down...

Thank you for any help.

Gotta tell you - Apple's blown it for me by not getting the RAW support for the D810 out fast enough. I got my D810 the week it came out and, even though I'm also and Aperture fan, went with the first party to offer support which was Adobe. So I bought LR5 standalone, and gotta say it's superior to Aperture with handling RAW, especially with spot removal as I've had several issues with keeping my sensor clean (anyone else had this problem?)

So I think what I'm going to do is to import all my photos into LR whether jpg or raw, do my editing there, then export out to iPhoto to take advantage of Yosemite's new photo sharing thing this fall. A two step process that will take up more drive space for sure, but with better results IMO.
