How do you turn off the keyboard clicks sound on macbook pro?

Hi,

Anyone knows how do you turn off the keyboard clicks sound?

I tried System Prefs --> Sound --> Sound Effects --> Play feedback when volume is changed.

But no luck.

Thanks.

this is it - I had the same problem and found the answer on the internet

  • Step 1: Turn on “Play user interface sounds” in System Preferences, under Sound -> Sound Effects.
  • Step 2: Turn on “Slow Keys” under Universal Access -> Keyboard, turn on “Use click key sounds”, and move the acceptance delay slider all the way towards the “Short” end. Unless, of course, you’d like to play around with slow keys to see what it does.
  • Step 3: Type until the sounds are maddening again, and then turn off Slow Keys in the same place.

You've a lot of junk installed - and remnants of MacKeeper - but I don't know of anything that you have installed that would cause 'clicking.' You could safely get rid of (unless you need VodaPhome to connect to the Internet):

Might help, might not, with the 'clicking.'

I have searched for hours because I have the same problem. Then I started typing and it was quiet. It probably always was. It's my trackpad that clicks every time and the sound of the space key that is fine. Now I need to go back and figure out how to make the trackpad quiet. Then need to check with Clinton on how to get rid of MacKeeper crap that comes up every time I click a ling or try to go somewhere.

I got this issue after I borrowed my 5 year old my Macbook to watch a movie, and clicked all over the system trying to play a DVD.....and no forum talks about this but the only way I have found to mute the keyboard sound is under System Preferences--->Sound---->Sound effects---->Alert Sound (slide the volume all the way to the left).

Some state that there should be a click on and off under this preference or accessibility... but I have found not such preference. But I have no keyboard feedback sound while typing which is great.
