Frustrated Newb. Redirecting Domain names from other host-to mac

Ya know, Nothing ever works when you want it to NOW.

I have went to BOTH of my different host and tried to re-direct my domain names to my mac Iweb site. Both host will redirect for free and tout being simple. *****!

You can't just put in the
http://web.mac.com/dottonedan/iWeb/DOTTONEDESIGNS/MAIN%20PAGE.htm

I need those "two" special numbers ( ns1.xxxxxxx.com ) & ( ns2.xxxxxxx.com ) That the mac account is supposed to have. Not jsut the web address, but the actual numbers. I can't seem to find anywhere. When I do the research, it leads me to creating my own DNS. I don't want to create a SERVER. I just simply want to have that flipp'n' little number to put in my spot at the HOST sites. Sheeesh! How simple can that be? Guess not all that simple. Can't find it anywhere. I'm hoping someone who's "IN THE KNOW" will come by real fast and put me in my place. Tell me I'm wrong and show me where. Show me how stupid I am and how simple it is. Can't wait!!!! I'll try to see to it tha tyou get one of those little stars er whatever it is for Good behavior. HEEEEEEEELP!

That last guy above had waht looks like some good
info. To use somthing similar to what my friend
Vanhoozer had in his VIEW, VIEW SOURCE.

OK, but what you are viewing there is a page hosted by the domain registrar (probably, anyway) which is a forwarding page that frames the .Mac page. I doubt you can make that page yourself. It's created when you tell your domain registrar where to forward your page.
After I try your method again, if it's still a NO GO,
I'll try the guys method above. IF doing that
(above), What protion do I copy and sue as a
template? Not all right? Just maybe the
</NOFRAMES>
</HTML>

Yeah... don't do that... I would keep trying to get the domain forwarding to work... it is obviously available from your registrar.

That was a good try. But it wasn't the reason. If you got that from something I posted. Then i did leave it off in the post, but not in the paste. As when I went back, the "paste" I made, was still in … but it included all.

Still, I think it was a matter of the Looooong link being too much.

So the Short version seemed to do the trick but won't know I guess until tomorrow when someone comes in and updates it.

GKG didn't do it at all unless I updated and paid another 8.00. Pees on that. I transfered it over to HOSTWAY for $7.00 and was free to forward.

Thanks for all your help on this. Annoying I know. Butt heads like me pop in and run he place for a few hours disturbing the peace. 😉

I think you all answered correctly. I'll work it out if it's not exaclty done yet.

You held your composure well.

It sounds like the best answer would have been something along these lines:

"Double check that the service you have purchased includes Domain Forwarding (where you provide the url of your .Mac site) and not just DNS Pointing (where they ask you for numbers or nameservers). Only Domain Forwarding works with .Mac, and some places don't offer it or try to charge an additional fee for it."
