I repeat, if Apple did not announce it then it will not happen. Stop referring to rumor sites or blogs. You have the latest software your old phone can run. Simple. Final. Not even any reason to respond. Fact.

The current iOS for all mobiles save the oldest is 8.1.2. In the mobile market Apple has never backported anything to previous releases, since you cannot pick & choose which version the device gets updated to. It is always to the latest. So your question is moot: there will be no further iOS 7 releases, they cannot be installed. And if this mutates to "will 8.1.3 correct the XYZ flaw and when will it be available?", the answers are we do not know and in the goodness of time when Apple deems appropriate.

For iPads 1, they can only use up to iOS 5.1.1 and that was last updated before I got my iPad 4.

FInally, if you want to come up with "I read on the imanevilhacker.com site that you can install any iOS you want", that's jailbreaking, goes against Apple policy and warranty and cannot be discussed here.
