Why is there a picture of an eye in the background?

My cousin has a macbook from school and brought it to my house today. I noticed an image of an eye in the background. And when I say in the background it's like a watermark. It's there when the computer is first starting up and you can see it when he uses a web browser. Although, it does not appear on the desktop background. I think that's cause he put a picture on there. Here is a screenshot of what it looks like in the web browser. You can see it behind the Google and search box in the middle. Anyone ever heard of this? It's kinda freaky.

thanks, Meg

With 'burn-in' the effect may be temporary, or it could be somewhat

permanent. The link posted about it may be helpful, if not informative.

(And it could cure or minimize the issue, if the instruction is applied.)

To occasionally change the desktop 'screen saver' is always recommended

because the use of one image there never saved the screen from damages.

In the days of CRT displays, rotating them (images) became popular.

So, any damage may already have been done.

And if he kept some odd image on there for

months, that could be the reason for the ghost.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
