How do I remove the free U2 album from my iTunes library?

So we all have a free U2 album in our iTunes library now. I don't like U2 and don't want it. I get an option to 'hide' it in iTunes, but not to delete it. How can I remove it entirely from my library in iCloud? I have just been to iCloud.com, but can't see anything there.

Swipe to delete the tracks if they were automatically downloaded to the phone.

I've gone through all steps in this thread, but still can't get some songs off my phone. I haven't downloaded the songs, but after I turned off Show All Music and reset my device, the 'download from iCloud' icon next to the songs was gone. However, in the Album on my phone it says it only has 7 songs, while the full album is 11 songs. If I try to swipe left to delete the tracks, it just plays them, which only adds to my frustration. All in all this very confusing... Any advice?

Review your sync options when connected to iTunes. If syncing cannot remove unwanted content, backup the device, restore as a new device, then restore from the backup.

It occurs to me that a number of the solutions are missing the point, hiding is no use if one doesn't want the content in there.

It's something to do with the presumption that just because it's free, they'll all want it... Eventually. No thanks Mr Apple, I don't want it, ain't going to listen to it and feel weirdly violated by having content appear that I wouldn't add myself. I was angry about it when I first heard it on the music news this morning and I'm only here now following a search for how to get rid.

I look forward to a retraction or solution from the powers that be. In the meantime Messrs Bono and Apple, I'm not impressed.

I got this squared away this afternoon, however I think I still 'own' the album. I have a computer w/ iTunes installed and an iPhone, both of which appeared to have this album as of this morning. I first removed it, or 'hid it' from my iTunes library like said a few times already. I hoped that would hide it from my iPhone as well, however it didn't. I contacted support and they had me hide all iTunes cloud content on the phone, which others have said. This was not an acceptable fix for me as I rely on lots of purchased music for streaming, and don't necessarily have the free space to download want I want to have local. After about 5-10 minutes he advised me to log out of iTunes on the iPhone (Settings > iTunes and Store), and then log back in. Not sure what he did on his end however now I don't see it on my iPhone. I do however see it under 'Hidden Purchases' in iTunes. If you want this gone from your mobile device i'd recommend contacting them.

Not cool Apple.
