New iTunes 11.4 update issues

I have been trying for days to update my iTunes to the most current format...every time I try to do so, I am unable to...my installer keeps coming up with message "object already exists," which pops up repeatedly during the install process, and then I get a message saying that there were errors in the configuration of the installation of iTunes, and that my system has not been modified...I want my iTunes! HELP?

I'm having problems updating my itunes also. I managed to update my phone to IOS8 but then asked me to reset my phone to factory settings which I did. When I went to restore from back up it told me that my version of itunes didnt support the software on my phone so i need to update it so be able to access my phone.

When I went to then update my itunes it told me that 'The application was unable to start correctly' which was from the application I downloaded directly fromthe itunes website.

When I checked for updates through itunes itself it came up with 'Errors occured while installing the updates' any ideas on what I can do? I need all the stuff off my phone!!

Thanks in advance x

I Am having the same issue and I was on the phone with Apple senior tech trying to resolve the issue. There was nothing they could do. He referred me to Microsoft and they said they won't support the problem. Apple said it was windows latest update that caused this issue. It prevents 3rd party downloads. Microsoft said I would have to pay them for help. I am royally ****** off. All my music on s on iTunes.

From Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates:

For "Object already exists" or "Access denied" errors when installing try opening Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates then checking for Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2918614). Uninstall if you have it, then reboot and try installing again.
