After iTunes 11.4 install no podcasts will download

In installed uTunes 11.4 on my MacBook Pro and my Mac Pro this week. My MacBook Pro is working fine. Now, I cannot download podcasts on my Mac Pro. I have verified that iTunes is set to check for new updates every hour. I also made sure that I have listened to all the available podcasts and there are none I have not listened to in a while so they would stop being downloaded. Both machines are running Mavericks with the latest fixes installed.

Any thoughts?

OK so this morning, completely out of the blue, all my podcasts decided to start downloading again. Unless 20+ podcasts decided to take a 2 week break and then upload new episodes all on the same morning, then I suspect that's not how it should have happened. Still no idea why it doesn't download when it's supposed to, but only when it chooses to.

I was having the same issue on 11.3. I upgraded to 11.4 and it didn't fix it. I decided to log out of iTunes and force quit the program. When I reopened, I hit refresh podcasts and it started downloading 12 podcasts. I am not sure if this is a fix, a band aid or if it will even work for anybody else. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has success with this method.

I'm having similar problems. For the past 7-10 days I haven't been able to download any podcasts, subscribed or not. I can't even download podcasts direct from the itunes store. I have tried the obvious fixes (refreshing the podcasts section of my library, unsubscribing, resubscribing, checking my podcasts settings, restarting itunes, restarting my computer, installing updates, etc) but nothing seems to make any difference. When I click to download a podcast from itunes, the downloading bar appears for a fraction of a second at the top of itunes, then disappears. The podcast name, minus the normal picture, appears on the left hand side of the podcasts section of my library, but they stay empty. When I click on refresh in the podcast section of the library, the 'updating podcast' message pops up for a second on the podcasts with pictures, but no new podcasts appear, despite the fact that there are new episodes every day in the itunes store.

If anyone finds a fix please help!

I would be interrested to know if any solution was found to this problem. Since September 2015, I have the same issue with iTunes 11.2.2 on the system 10.6.8.

Actualisation does not help. The only way I can get podcast to synchronise again is to unsubscribe. Once I unsubscribe, the names of the new podcast appears in the Flux and I can mannualy download them. Automatical synchronisation never works anymore 😟.

Is there any solution to this ?

Thank you

Claude

Hello.

First, I must admit I haven't read all previous posts in this conversation, so maybe my post is not exactly fitting. But anyway, I had the problem that some podcasts did not update and could solve it. Try this (on a computer, not iPhone or iPad; the following description wouldn't be useful): In iTunes click the podcast-icon (the sign with the two circles, right under the main play button). Then, in the middle under the apple logo (or indication of the presently played music), choose "playlists". In the list of the podcasts, choose a podcast that does not update. On the right side you may see a text saying something like, "The updating of the podcast was stopped by another device"? If so, choose the button saying something like "Re-establish updating". After that, click the button saying something like "More information" and choose whatever you like. Then click the ...-icon besides the title of the podcast, top of the window. Click the refresh-button or icon. Now it should work again.
