Wasn’t the question… Does it work on an iPhone 5.

'Wi-Fi Calling' ONLY work on 5c, 5s and up. It is also carrier-dependent like T-MOBILE. It is very stupid for Apple to leave behind the iPhone 5, maybe due to its older A6 chip compared to the newer A7 on the 5c/s models.

Correction: The 5c also uses A6 chip.

It is more insidious than that...

The iPhone 5 worked with T-Mobile WiFi Calling in the beta of iOS 8, so Apple made the conscience decision to turn it off for the iPhone 5 for the release of iOS 8, without giving T-Mobile a "heads up" about the situation.

Apple strikes again! 👿

I'm just about had it with these clowns. Once not too long ago I was VERY happy with my Nokia Windows Phone. Decided to give Apple a shot since my carrier sent me the 5c for FREE (as in nothing out-of-pocket and contract-free!) under customer loyalty program. So yeah, the only way I'll use an Apple device is if it is paid free and clear 100% by someone else.

Turns out it is not what it seems with the device but all hype, and now worst!

Thanks for the response (before Mods took it down!)

It seems that giving an accurate history of Apple's failure to allow WiFi Calling on the iPhone 5 since its introduction by T-Mobile in April, 2013 (which continues to this day with the release of the official version of iOS 8) is considered a rant or complaint that is not constructive; due to the fact that it is not a technical question that can be answered by the community.

I guess that means that my thousands of posts helping those who need to run PowerPC apps in a post-Snow Leopard world, by explaining the history of Rosetta also fails for the same reason! 😁
